Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent both rolling of a ship and increase in resistance of the ship by providing at a bilge portion of the ship a bilge keel extending in the longitudinal direction of the ship in such a way as to be allowed retraction in a recess groove and projection out of the ship by means of a driving mechanism. CONSTITUTION:A ship has at a bilge portion thereof a recess groove 10 formed in the longitudinal direction of the ship, and a bilge keel 11 is stored in the recess groove 10. There are provided in the ship hydraulic cylinders 13 each attached through a hydraulic cylinder connector 14 to the base portion of the groove 10 and having a rod 12 which is fixed at one end thereof to a side edge of the bilge keel 11. The hydraulic cylinders 13 are disposed in plural in the longitudinal direction of the ship in properly spaced relationship with one another. Thus constructed, when it is required to prevent rolling of the ship, the bilge keel 11 is projected by means of the hydraulic cylinders 13 to reduce rolling. And in the other cases, the bilge keel 11 is stored in the recess groove 10 to prevent increase in resistance of the ship which would be caused by the bilge keel 11.

ール駆動機構同期制御部17が設けられている。

ので、ビルジキールによる船体抵抗の増加が解消され、
船体推進効率が向上する効果がある。
