Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce identification information of destinations and make an incoming guide from any telephone terminal possible to receive by adopting the system where a facsimile terminal is called from an incoming side in a facsimile device managing every destination. CONSTITUTION:When the user of a facsimile device 1 issues a call request from a telephone terminal 10 for the purpose of confirming incoming in mails, a telephone terminal server sets the number of a mail where incoming should be confirmed. The facsimile device 1 receives this mail number 15 in a command receiving part 21. Information 16 of the number of times of communication, the number of received sheets of paper, the reception time, etc. which are preserved in a control part 17 in accordance with individual mails are outputted to an announce output part 20 to guide the incoming.

However, since incoming calls are managed on a subscriber phone number basis, the amount of information for incoming call management identification is large and redundant. In addition, since it is an automatic ringing method, if the called party is not present at the telephone terminal or the line is busy, the trap must ring many times until the notification is confirmed. There was a drawback in that incoming call notifications could only be sent to subscriber telephone terminals.

In a system in which a facsimile machine that receives a document and manages it automatically calls the destination of the communication by telephone, there is always a problem that the other party is absent and two lines are busy. Furthermore, since the facsimile machine calls the recipient of the document, incoming calls are managed by subscriber number, and incoming calls can only be directed to that telephone terminal. Therefore, reverse the calling direction of the incoming call guide. That is, the present invention solves the above-mentioned problems by using a system in which the receiving side calls a facsimile terminal.

A person who sends a document using the facsimile machine 3 makes a call to the facsimile machine 1 via the telephone switching network 2. At this time, the telephone switching network 2 sends a 16H2 call number i3 number 4 to the facsimile machine 1 from the received subscriber number 5 of the called facsimile terminal. The receiving side 7 axis device 1 detects this calling signal 4, automatically starts up, and in response, a link is formed. After confirming the response from the other party's terminal, the operator of the facsimile machine 1 sets a mail request using the operation buttons within the machine. As a result, the facsimile machine M3 sends a mail request command signal to the other party's terminal. When the receiving side facsimile machine 1 receives this command signal at the command signal receiving section 21 in FIG. 2, the control section 17 determines this as a mail request, and sends out a request for sending the mail number to be notified from the announcement output section 20. 7.

Notify the other party's terminal operator by voice. After hearing this voice, the operator of the facsimile machine 3 sets the mail number on the operation button, and the machine transmits the mail number signal 8. The command receiving section 21 in the facsimile machine 1 receives this signal, and the control section 18 stores and manages the fact that the mail corresponding to the mail number has received an incoming call. Thereafter, normal facsimile communication 9 is performed via the modem section 19, documents are exchanged, and communication between the facsimile terminals 1 and 3 is completed.

The user of the facsimile device 1 makes a call request 12 to the facsimile terminal 1 from the telephone terminal 10 via the telephone network 11 in order to check whether there is an incoming mail. The facsimile machine 1 receives 16H2 from the switching network 11.
Detects the call signal 16 of the device, responds automatically, and forms a link. After this, the telephone terminal operator will press the button inside the telephone.
When the button is pressed, the e-mail reception confirmation command 14 is sent, so the facsimile machine 1 k'f and the command receiving section 2
1 receives this command, the control unit 17 determines that there is a request for mail incoming guidance, and prepares to receive the next mail number.

The telephone terminal operator sets the number of the mail whose incoming call he wishes to confirm using the button. The facsimile machine M1 receives this mail number 15 at the command signal receiving section 21,
Information 16 such as the number of communications, the number of received messages, and the time of reception stored in the control section 17 for mail is outputted from the announcement output section 20 to notify the incoming call. The method of exchanging command signals and specifying mail numbers is one example. In addition, although we have shown the case of voice as a means of reporting incoming call guidance,
This is not limited to audio signals. In this embodiment, the facsimile device 3 sends the original and specifies the destination.
Although this is an example, this is also just an example, and is not limited to facsimile 5 devices. This is also possible with a facsimile/communications network or a storage-type switching network in which the network itself has a protocol with terminals.
