Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a document printer capable of printing a composition within a printing region which is set by manually moving a printing head on the surface of a printing paper so as to trace the boundary points of the desired printing region. CONSTITUTION:In the case of leaving a region 20 of the surface of the printing paper as a blank part for pasting a photo or the like and printing in the other region, a pen 5 is manually located at the top left and point 50 of a printing region 21, and a region-starting key on a keyboard 13 is depressed. A CPU10 reads data from an X position sensor 2 and a Y position sensor 4, and stores the data into a main memory 11. Next, the pen 5 is located at the bottom right end point 51 of the printing region 21, and a region-ending key on the keyboard 13 is depressed.
