Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide the titled member which enables the correction of an image misrecorded simply and accurately by providing a hot melting ink transfer layer that contains a coloring agent or the like with a specified refractive index the same in the base as color of a plain paper while showing a higher melt viscosity than a transfer layer of a transfer sheet on a support. CONSTITUTION:A hot melting ink transfer layer which contains a coloring agent (e.g. white lead) with the refractive index of more than 1.8 the same in the base as color of a plain paper and a filling agent (e.g. silver) with the reflectance of more than 60% as required while showing a higher melt viscosity than a transfer layer of a transfer sheet is applied on a support (e.g. paper) by an ordinary method to obtain the desired thermal transfer member for correction. When a recording is done using the transfer sheet, it is put on a plain paper in such a manner that the transfer layer thereof touches the surface thereof and then, a thermal printing is performed from the back of the transfer sheet to record a transfer ink image.

2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, a thermal transfer method is known in which a transfer sheet having a heat-fusible ink transfer layer is placed on plain paper and thermal transfer is performed to form an ink image on the plain paper. When such thermal transfer is performed, erroneous recording often occurs, and it is necessary to correct the recording. Correcting erroneous records is usually done by scratching off the erroneous records with a sand eraser or applying white paint over the erroneous records, but these methods are difficult to correct. At the same time, there were also drawbacks such as the areas after correction becoming dirty, and the results were not satisfactory.

The agent has strong hiding power and is effective when used in small amounts. Colorants with a refractive index lower than 1.8 have weak hiding power, so they are ineffective in covering erroneous records unless they are used in large quantities, and the use of large quantities may reduce the thermal sensitivity of the correction thermal transfer member. lower.

Therefore, the use of a colorant with a refractive index of 1.8 or more is important in obtaining a corrective thermal transfer member with excellent hiding power and high thermal sensitivity. Furthermore, in the present invention, since each of the colorants described above can be used, even when plain paper is colored,
By appropriately selecting a colorant or by appropriately blending a colorant, it is possible to easily obtain a correction thermal transfer member having a similar color to that of the plain paper.

When the melt viscosity of the correction transfer layer is lower than the melt viscosity of the recording transfer layer, when thermal transfer for correction is performed on a correction area on plain paper, the correction transfer layer becomes deeper and normal than the recording ink existing at the correction area. If it penetrates into the paper or mixes with the recording ink, it becomes impossible to sufficiently cover the erroneously recorded ink, and the erroneously recorded ink becomes insufficiently concealed by the molten correction ink. Such inconveniences can be avoided by increasing the melt viscosity of the correction transfer layer ink as described above.

Note that the transfer sheet for image recording is a conventionally known one, and is one in which a heat-melting ink transfer layer is provided on a support such as a plastic film, paper, or synthetic paper. In this case, the transferable ink transfer layer may contain pigments or dyes having the desired color, such as carbon black, cyanine blue, rose bengal, crystal violet lactone, etc., similar to those shown in the formation of the corrective transfer layer. It includes binders and waxes. To perform recording using such a transfer sheet, stack it on plain paper so that its transfer layer is in contact with the surface of the plain paper, and perform thermal printing from the back side of the transfer sheet (the side without the transfer layer). . This records the transferred ink image on the plain paper.

In order to correct a transferred ink image formed as an erroneous recording on plain paper using the correction thermal transfer member of the present invention,
Apply the thermal transfer member for correction of the present invention to the location of the erroneous recording.
The transfer layer is stacked so as to be in contact with the erroneously recorded surface, and thermal printing is performed from the surface of the correction member on a plane including the erroneously recorded portion or in the same image as the erroneously recorded portion. As a result, the erroneous recording is coated with the ink transferred from the correction thermal transfer layer, and the erroneous recording becomes invisible, and at the same time, correct recording by retransfer by thermal printing becomes possible. Moreover, the corrected area is not particularly noticeable because it has the same color as the plain paper due to the transferred colorant.

The present invention has the above-mentioned configuration, and it is possible to correct the erroneous recording that occurred during thermal transfer, and to easily obtain a correctly recorded image at the corrected location again by normal thermal transfer. Moreover, in this case, the modified portion is not particularly noticeable. Therefore, the thermal transfer member for correction of the present invention is extremely effective as a member for correcting erroneous recording in thermal transfer recording using a heat-melting ink layer.
