Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a garlic preparation, by freezing the bulb of barlic in liquid nitrogen, crushing and freeze-drying the bulb, and forming the obtained powder in the form of enteric preparation. CONSTITUTION:A garlic bulb is divided into individual segments by removing the skin of the bulb, and the segments are washed with water, dried in air, and immersed in liquid nitrogen. When the vigorous bubbling of the liquid nitrogen has ceased, the fragments are taken out of the liquid and pulverized without delay. The frozen powder is immediately freeze-dried in a vacuum drier under reduced pressure. The obtained dry powder is mixed with a diluent such as starch, lactose, microcrystalline cellulose, etc., granulated, added with a lubricant, tableted, and coated with an enteric coating to obtain a preparation free from garlic odor. As an alternative method, the granule or powder is filled together with the diluent in an enteric hard capsule. The content of the garlic powder is 500mg per tablet or capsule.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION Garlic has been well known as a medicinal plant since ancient times, but it is well known that it is difficult to take it directly because of its strong garlic odor.

There have been many attempts to remove the so-called garlic odor from garlic and obtain products that are easy to take, but the medicinal components of garlic are closely related to its odor components, and deodorization may also destroy its useful medicinal components. It is believed that it will disappear.

Therefore, an object of the present invention is to provide a preparation that does not destroy the medicinal components of garlic and does not produce a garlic odor when taken normally or when taken.

The present invention relates to a method for producing a garlic preparation, which comprises freezing garlic bulbs in liquid nitrogen, pulverizing them, and freeze-drying the resulting powder into an enteric-coated preparation.

Enteric-coated preparations are preparations for oral administration that have an outer shell that does not dissolve in gastric juices but dissolves in intestinal fluids, in order to protect drugs such as antibiotics and hormones that degrade and lose their effectiveness in gastric juices. It is well known in the pharmaceutical field.

Therefore, by making the garlic powder obtained by the above method into an enteric-coated preparation, its odor does not occur in the stomach during normal use or when taken, but it dissolves in the intestines for the first time and is absorbed into the body along with its various useful components. It is much easier to take as a health food than deodorized garlic preparations because it is as easy to take as if you were taking an odorless product, and the medicinal ingredients are not destroyed, which inevitably occurs with deodorization. It has high medicinal value.

To carry out the present invention, the outer skin of garlic bulbs is removed, small bulbs are taken out, washed with water, air-dried, and immersed in liquid nitrogen. Nitrogen gas will be generated and it will bubble violently, but after that stops, take it out and quickly crush it. Frozen garlic bulbs are brittle and can be easily crushed. The crushed frozen product is immediately freeze-dried under reduced pressure in a vacuum dryer using a conventional method. The dry powder thus obtained is granulated by mixing with excipients such as starch, lactose and microcrystalline cellulose, and after tabletting with the addition of a blanching agent such as magnesium stearate, The desired product can be obtained by applying an enteric coating or by filling the granulated granules or powder together with excipients into IIM/8 hard capsules. The amount of garlic powder per tablet or capsule is arbitrary, but it is usually preferably about 500 ml.
