Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide the titled preventive and remedy containing methyl-3-(2- quinoxalinylmethylene)carbazate-N,N-dioxide, having excellent preventive and remedying effect to the bacterial infectious diseases of fish in especially pisciculture, andhaving low toxicity to fish. CONSTITUTION:The carbadox of formula known as a remedy for the dysentery of young pig is used as a preventive and remedy fo the diseases of aquatic animals such as fish. The above compound has excellent remedying effect to a wide variaty of bacterial infectious diseases of fish such as vibriosis of young yellowtail and amberjac, saprolegniasis of eel, vibriosis nd furunculosis of trout, etc. and can be used safely because of its extremely low toxidity. The agent is applied by oral administration, injection, application medicinal bath, etc. Dose: 10-80mg/kg for oral administration, 5-50mg/kg for injection, and 5-30ppm in medicinal bath.

In recent years, with the development of aquaculture fishing, for example, Thai yellowtail,
The cultivation of seawater and freshwater fish such as sweetfish, yellowtail, yellowtail, filefish, trout salmon, carp, and goldfish has become popular, and many diseases have become a problem, especially in high-density aquaculture. The degree of occurrence is high, and if left untreated, it can sometimes lead to near total extinction, and even if the animal does not die, it is often damaged and its economic value drastically reduced. Under these circumstances, there is a particular demand for the emergence of effective and appropriate preventive and therapeutic agents.

Examples of the above-mentioned infectious diseases include Vibrio disease in yellowtail and Japanese birch, aquatic fungal disease in eels, Vibrio disease and Cerassoil disease in trout, and in freshwater fish such as trout, carp, goldfish, and tropical fish, fin sore disease, elagusan disease, and lysoline disease. can be mentioned.

Conventionally, for the purpose of preventing or treating bacterial infections in these fishes, for example, various furan-based and sulfonamide-based compounds or antibiotics have been added to the feed, or diseased fish have been immersed in solutions containing these drugs. Although it is used for swimming, etc., it is difficult to say that it is necessarily effective in terms of efficacy, economy, side effects, etc.

As with various conventionally used drugs, the concentration used varies considerably depending on the type of fish, degree of physical exhaustion of diseased fish, environmental conditions (water temperature, etc.), type of pathogenic bacteria, etc., and is usually 10 to 80 q/Kf for oral use. Fish body, 5 to 50 ■ for injection
/For fish bodies and medicated baths, concentrations of 5 to 30 ppm are used.

Experimental Example 1゜Antibacterial activity test against fish-pathogenic bacteria Five representative bacteria causing infectious diseases of fish were selected, and the in vitro minimum inhibitory concentration of the compound of the present invention, carbadox, was investigated, as shown in Table 1. Excellent effects were observed in both cases. In all experiments, a predetermined concentration of the compound of the present invention was added to an ordinary agar medium (in the case of Vibrio, 3% salt was added), each test bacterium was inoculated, and cultured at 30°C for 20 hours (however, in the case of Aeromonas salmonicida, 3% salt was added). 25°C48

The presence or absence of growth was determined by culturing for a certain period of time. The test results are shown in Table 1.

Experimental Example 2゜Efficacy test for treatment of Aeromonas liquefaciens infection by immersion a-swimming Aqueous solutions containing the compounds of the present invention at various concentrations were prepared, respectively.
Adjust the water temperature to 25℃ and the capacity is 5f! , put it in the aquarium. Next, 5 ml of Vibrio anguillarum suspension Q was intramuscularly injected into trout with an average weight of about 80 to 100 y, and then these trout were allowed to swim in groups of 5 to a tank ahead, and the number of dead trout was observed. As shown in Table 2, the results show that the untreated area was 1
The mortality rate was 40% after 1 day and 100% after 3 days, whereas in the group that immersed and swam in a 10 ppm solution of the compound of the present invention, 10% died after 3 days.
Even after 0 days, 100% of the mice were still alive, and it was determined that they had been treated with this drug.
