Abstract

PURPOSE:To contrive enhancement of printing quality and reduction in consumption of an ink ribbon, by a construction wherein an ink ribbon feeding quantity with which parts of printed characters overlap with each other on the ribbon and an ink ribbon feeding quantity with which no parts of the printed characters overlap with each other on the ribbon can be selected. CONSTITUTION:An ink ribbon 1 is fed in synchronism with a hammer solenoid 5 by rotating a driving gear 10 and a gear 8 by a pulse motor 9. With a normal feeding quantity setting signal S1 inputted into a feeding quantity setting circuit (a), a signal is sent to the motor 9 through a pulse-generating circuit 11 and an amplifier 12, and the motor 9 is driven to feed the ink ribbon 1 at such a velocity that parts of the printed characters overlap with each other on the ribbon 1. On the other hand, with a feeding quantity setting signal S2 for enhancing printing quality inputted, the motor 9 is driven to feed the ribbon 1 at such a velocity that no parts of the printed characters overlap with each other on the ribbon 1. Accordingly, printing is conducted with enhanced printing quality when printing a particularly important composition, and the consumption of the ink ribbon can be reduced in other cases.

[Means for Solving the Problems] The present invention provides a multi-strike ribbon feed rate in which the ribbon feed rate is set so that a portion of the printed characters overlaps the ribbon, by the initial setting of the printer or by external control. The present invention is designed to improve printing quality by allowing selection of a feeding amount similar to that of a one-time ribbon, which is a feeding amount that prevents printed characters from overlapping each other on the ribbon.

This feeding of the ink ribbon 1 is performed using the normal feeding position setting signal S1.
When the signal enters the pulse generating circuit 11, it is sent to the pulse motor 9 via the amplifier 12. Then, the pulse motor 9 is set by the feed position setting signal S to drive the feed of the ink ribbon 1 at a speed at which the printed characters are imprinted on the ink ribbon 1 so that a portion of the printed characters overlap (the speed of the multi-strunk ribbon). .

Next, when the feed position setting signal S2 for improving print quality enters the pulse generation circuit 11 due to initial settings of the printer or manual operation from the outside, it is sent to the pulse motor 9 via the amplifier 12. Then, the drive amount of the pulse motor 9 increases, and the feed position setting signal S1 is set to drive the feed of the ink ribbon 1 at a speed (one-time ribbon speed) at which printed characters do not overlap on the ink ribbon 1.

This improves print quality. (See Fig. 3) The present invention is not limited to the above-mentioned embodiment. For example, as in a typewriter, a cam rotates and a pawl is actuated by the movement of a carriage. In a device that rotates a ratchet wheel for feeding the ink ribbon, the amount of feed of the ink ribbon may be changed by changing the cam and changing the amount of operation of the pawl.

As described above, according to the present invention, the feeding amount of the ink ribbon can be set to the feeding amount at which a part of the printed characters overlaps on the ink ribbon, and the feeding amount at which the printed characters do not overlap, which is particularly important. In the case of text, it prints with improved print quality, and if it is not very important text, it prints with normal print quality, reducing ribbon consumption and increasing efficiency (improving print quality because it can print This has the effect of reducing ink ribbon consumption.
