Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain stably a uniformly sized wire rod having no twists with an inexpensive installation without disconnection in line constitution of the titled extruder by combining a dancer roll which absorbs the fluctuation in the extruding speed of the extruder and a coiler with a torque motor. CONSTITUTION:The dancer roll part 2 is disposed between the extruder 1 with the constant discharge type pump and the coiler 3 with the torque motor to absorb and adjust the speed fluctuation of the extruded wire rod. The tension of the coiler 3 is preliminarily set in 3 stages. Between A and B is the zone where some tension is kept applied to the wire rod to absorb the slack of the wire rod before the start of extrusion and the tension in the stage of discharging the wire rod is assured. The quick discharge of the wire rod is detected by a limit switch LSI and is absorbed by BCD when such discharge arises. The wire rod attaining the normal extruding speed thereafter is subjected to the absorption adjustment in the position EF. The speed fluctuation of the wire rod in the stage of starting the extrusion is approximately perfectly executed by the combination of the above-mentioned two points.

[Detailed Description of the Invention] [Background and Objectives of the Invention] The present invention is directed to a method for controlling the fluctuation of the wire extrusion speed in a line configuration of a constant discharge pump-equipped extruder for conductors, that is, wire rods such as copper, copper alloys, aluminum and their alloys. The invention relates to a winding method that absorbs

Conventionally, extruded wire rods have been wound up directly from an extruder equipped with a constant discharge pump to a winder.

However, the extrusion characteristics of these wire rods are such that the behavior of the wire rods immediately after the start of extrusion is such that the pressure increases rapidly due to the metal flow of the material.

Thereafter, the extrusion pressure does not follow a gentle downward line, but rapidly decreases, and then maintains a constant pressure (as shown later).

Possible causes of this include a decrease in the deformation resistance and friction coefficient of the material due to processing heat, etc. of the material.

Due to this phenomenon (generally known as astart), the extruded wire rod is extruded at a normal speed or higher immediately after the start of extrusion.

However, when extruding regular length products such as round bars or irregularly shaped strips, this speed fluctuation at the start of extrusion is not a big problem.
In the case of continuous extrusion of wire rods, the following problems generally occur due to speed fluctuations.

That is, it is difficult to synchronize the wire rod extrusion speed and the speed of the winding machine, so the wire rod is under too much tension and breaks, and the wire rod becomes twisted due to slack, making it impossible to obtain a uniform wire rod.

Conventionally, these problems could be solved by using an extruded wire speed detector and combining it with a variable speed motor such as a DC motor or HC motor, but the equipment cost was very high. This is difficult in terms of implementation.

The gist of the present invention is to absorb and adjust speed fluctuations of the extruded wire by arranging a dancer roll and an accumulator between the wire extruder and the winder, and to adjust the tension of the winder in three stages. By setting it to , it is possible to maintain a constant tension that corresponds to speed fluctuations of the extruded wire rod.

Figure 1 shows the relationship between extrusion pressure and stroke during wire extrusion. Point a immediately after the start of extrusion is the point where the pressure due to the metal flow of the material increases rapidly, and the extrusion pressure thereafter is as shown by the dotted line. This diagram illustrates the property that the pressure does not show a tendency to decrease rapidly, but shows a tendency to decrease rapidly to point b, and then maintains a constant pressure.

Figure 2 shows the relationship between the wire rod speed C of the extruder and the winding speed d of the winder with respect to time. As a result, the wire rods inevitably become sagging in the shaded areas due to a delay in the strength of the wires.
