[Technical background of the invention and its problems] In general, this type of coin sorting device continuously sends out coins of various denominations to a coin sorting path using a rotating disk, etc. A conveyor belt provided above the coin sorting passage transports the coins, and the coins transferred by the conveyor belt are placed in the coin sorting passage in the order of decreasing diameter. The structure was such that coins were sorted by dropping them through a sorting hole that was sized according to the size of the coins. However, in conventional devices, the sorting holes for sorting coins must be formed in order from the smallest diameter coin to the largest diameter coin, and the sorting order cannot be changed. Valid coins must be rejected through the exclusion hole formed at the most upstream side of the coin sorting passage, and invalid coins with a diameter larger than the largest suitable coin must be rejected through the exclusion hole at the most downstream side of the coin sorting passage. However, the removal of invalid coins by diameter could only exclude coins smaller or larger than the diameter range of various suitable coins, but could not exclude invalid coins with intermediate diameters.

Furthermore, in this conventional device, coins are sorted by diameter using a sorting hole, so coins made of inappropriate material cannot be eliminated. For example, coins that have been crushed and have a larger diameter are sorted using the sorting hole to be sorted and another sorting hole of the appropriate diameter of coins corresponding to the enlarged diameter. It has certain drawbacks.

[Summary of the Invention] The coin sorting device of the present invention includes a coin supply section that supplies coins one by one, a discrimination section that discriminates the denomination of each coin supplied from the coin supply section one by one, and this discrimination section. a linear coin sorting path that is continuous with the coin sorting path and guides the bottom surface of the coins; a conveying means that is provided above the coin sorting path along the coin sorting path and conveys the coins in contact with the top surface of the coins; a plurality of elongated holes provided in the coin sorting passage at appropriate intervals and formed obliquely with respect to the coin conveyance direction;
A plurality of holes are provided so as to be able to advance upwardly from the surface of the coin sorting path from within each of these elongated holes, and are selectively advanced based on a discrimination signal from the discrimination section to receive coins when advancing, and to sort and discharge the coins. branching plates, and selectively advances one of the branching plates based on a discrimination signal from the discrimination section to discharge coins conveyed through the coin sorting path at the branching plate, thereby sorting the coins. It is characterized by this.

This guide member 15 has an inner circumferential wall 17 having a larger diameter than the rotary disk 12 on its lower surface, and an annular regulating portion that faces the upper surface of the rotary disk 12 with a gap slightly wider than the maximum thickness of the coins to be processed on the upper surface thereof. 18. Further, an annular rising portion 19 is formed on the inner circumferential edge of the guide member 15, and acts as a coin hopper for the rotating disk 12. Further, a coin conveying section 21 that conveys coins sent out from the rotary disk 12 is configured to transport coins disposed in a tangential direction of the rotary disk 12 from a cutout open portion 15a (upper right corner in the figure) of the annular guide member 15. A passage 22 is formed in communication with the rotary disk 12, and as the rotary disk 12 rotates (clockwise in the drawing), coins of normal thickness among the F-area supplied coins of the disk 12 are transferred to the regulating portion 18 by centrifugal force.
The coins are lined up inside and sent out to the coin passage 22. In addition, unsuitable coins having a thickness greater than the normal thickness cannot enter the regulating portion 18 and move in a central portion as the rotary disk 12 rotates, and are not sent out to the coin passage 22. In addition, a discharge port 23 for thick, invalid coins is provided in a portion of the guide member 15 adjacent to the downstream side in the direction of rotation of the rotary disk 12 from the communicating portion with the coin passage 22 . The lower surface of the guide auxiliary material 15 is largely removed so that invalid coins can pass from the inner circumference to the outer circumference. The discharge port 23 is normally closed by an opening/closing member 25 rotatably supported by a shaft 24. This opening/closing member 25 is driven counterclockwise in the drawing by a rotary solenoid 26, opens the discharge port 23, and is also displaced toward the center of the rotating disk 12.
Inappropriate coins having a large thickness and moving through the portion 3 are guided outward from the discharge port 23. Further, this discharge port 23 is provided with a guide plate 27 that guides invalid coins to a reject path 28.

The coins supplied to the coin supply section 11 are aligned with the regulation section 18 by the rotation of the rotary disk 12 and sent out to the coin passage 22. The coins fed into the coin passage 22 are conveyed toward the coin sorting passage 66 by the first roller 30 and the twentieth roller 31. At this time, the second O
- The rotational speed of the roller 31 is 1. Therefore, the coins that are sent out one after another pass through the coin passage 22 while maintaining intervals one by one, and the magnetic sensor 63 of the discrimination section 62 detects the material of the coin, and the image sensor 64 detects the shape of the coin. , size, pattern, etc. are detected. The coins discriminated and detected by both sensors 63 and 64 are fed into the coin sorting passage 66 and conveyed by two conveyor belts 7G.

If the coin is a coin to be rejected, the solenoid 91 that advances the most upstream branching plate 90 is energized by the discrimination signal from the discrimination unit 62, and the branching plate 90 is moved to the coin sliding surface 67 of the coin sorting passage 66. It is advanced through the long hole 69 of. The coin to be rejected is then guided to the reject passage 28 with its transport direction changed by the advanced branching plate 90. When this coin is guided to the reject passage 28, the passage of this coin is detected by the second sensor 96, and the solenoid 91 is de-energized by the signal of this second sensor 96.
The branching plate 90 is moved against the coin sliding surface 6 by the tensile force of the tension spring 92.
It will be retreated from 7.

Further, when a subsequent coin is discriminated by the discrimination unit 62 and the first sensor 95 corresponding to the coin storage tube 94 to be stored based on the discrimination result detects the coin, the first sensor 95 immediately detects the coin. The solenoid 91 is energized by the signal, the branching plate 90 is advanced through the elongated hole 69 into the coin sliding surface 67, the coin hits the branching plate 90, and the coin is placed in a predetermined coin storage tube 94.
The coins are guided toward the coin storage tube 94 and stored in the coin storage tube 94. When the second sensor 96 detects a coin that has passed through the branch passage 97 when the coin is guided toward the coin storage cylinder 94, the solenoid 91 is de-energized by the signal from the second sensor 96, and the branch plate 90 is set back.
