Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a cosmetic wherein the excessive luster is suppressed and the excellent characteristics of an extender pigment is maintained, by compounding a pigment coated with an inorganic silicon compound to suppress the unnatural luster of extender pigment. CONSTITUTION:The surface of a pigment, especially an extender pigment used in makeup cosmetics, is coated with one or more kinds of inorganic silicon compounds, especially silicon dioxide and/or a silicate compound, and the coated pigment is compounded to a cosmetic, especially a makeup cosmetic such as foundation, etc. It is not necessary to adjust the amount of the extender pigment for attaining desired luster, and accordingly, excellent characteristics of extender pigment such as transparency, fluidity, spreadability on the skin, adhesivity to the skin, etc. can be fully demonstrated, and a cosmetic having uniform and controlled luster, high safety, and excellent feeling and physical properties can be obtained. The weight ratio of the pigment to the silicon compound is about 99:1-50:50, especially 98:2-70:30.

Extender pigments usually incorporated into makeup cosmetics are often in the form of thin plates, and therefore often have a more or less unique luster. The intensity of this luster is unique depending on conditions such as the type of extender pigment, the origin of the raw stone, the manufacturing method, and the particle size distribution.

On the other hand, make-up cosmetics are required to have various glosses, especially gloss strength, due to their cosmetic properties. an extender pigment that has no luster;
The glossiness of the entire system has been adjusted by appropriately combining extender pigments with strong luster such as mica and sericite and adjusting their blending amounts.

However, if a large amount of extender pigments with strong luster are used, when applied to the skin, the appearance will be shiny or shiny.
There was a tendency to give an unnatural shine. In order to solve this problem, the amount of glossy extender pigments had to be kept to a low level. At present, it has not been possible to fully demonstrate excellent properties such as adhesion.

Therefore, in view of the current situation, the present inventors conducted intensive research to develop a useful powder, and found that by coating the surface of a pigment with one or more types of inorganic silicon compounds, the physical properties of the pigment could be improved. The unnatural gloss that pigments have can be reduced, thereby making it possible to obtain the desired gloss for each cosmetic without requiring the conventional adjustment of the amount of extender pigments. They also discovered that the coated pigment thus obtained has the excellent properties of the pigment before coating, such as transparency, fluidity, smooth spread on the skin, and adhesive strength, It took a while to complete the invention.

The coated pigment used in the present invention can be widely used in cosmetics using pigments, and the cosmetics obtained by the present invention include makeup cosmetics such as foundation, powder powder, solid powder, red bean paste, and eye shadow. To provide a cosmetic that has excellent uniformity and controlled gloss, is highly safe, has an excellent feeling of use, and has excellent physical properties. It can be blended into cosmetics in the same manner as conventional pigments, and the blending amount is arbitrarily selected depending on the properties of the cosmetic, but is 5% to 90% of the total weight of the cosmetic ingredients. This is a minimum of 5% in order to take advantage of the excellent properties of pigments, such as transparency, fluidity, smooth spread on the skin, and adhesion, and to adjust the gloss of the applied cosmetics. This is because the above combination is required. The upper limit is not particularly limited, but it is preferably about 90%, considering the addition of colorants, oils, fragrances, etc.
