Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the solid looking and accuracy of characters or the like by providing a painted layer on the back of a transparent molding excluding the emblem part to form the emblem part in a concave with a press mold during the hot stamping while a transfer foil is transferred thereonto with the mold. CONSTITUTION:A mold is made of an elastic material such as rubber and has a surface part 6 larger enough than the emblem part 2a of a molding 1. The press mold 5 thus obtained is heated and positioned above the emblem part 2a and then, pressed from the top side of a transfer foil 4. With the surface part 6 thereof, the transfer foil 4 is made to abut on the painted layer 3 in the perimeter of the emblem part 2a while the part 7 thereof corresponding to the emblem part deforms elastically to make the transfer foil 4 abut on the back 2 of the emblem part. With the further pressing of the press mold 5, the part 7 thereof elastically deforms and sticks out from the other part of the surface melting resin or the like forming the molding 1 by heat to form the emblem part 2a in a concave 8. Then, as the press mold 5 is lifted, the transfer foil 4 peels off a thin layer 4e at the peeling layer 4d and adheres and transfers to the concave 8 and the painted layer 3 in the perimeter thereof through an adhesion layer 4a.

In order to make the characters and figures displayed on molded products appear three-dimensional,
A recess corresponding to the letters, etc. is formed on the back side of a transparent molded product, and a metallic color, etc. is added to this recess by vapor deposition or painting.
There is a known method for making letters and the like appear raised when observed from the surface, but this method requires time and effort in vapor deposition and painting processes, resulting in an increase in product cost. Therefore, a method has been proposed in which transfer foil is adhered to the back side of the molded product using a hot stamp, and then the back side is painted. When the mold is pressed, some of the resin, etc. at the upper peripheral edge of the depression melts due to heat, so the contour corresponding to the mold often does not come out neatly. Furthermore, the transfer foil transferred by the stamping die also has several drawbacks, such as its contour line being uneven and requiring finishing work such as cutting off unnecessary portions.

The present invention was made in view of the above circumstances, and
The purpose of this method is to be able to express letters and figures three-dimensionally on molded products at low cost, and to hot stamp the molded products so that the letters can be accurately formed into the desired outline without the need for finishing with transfer foil. The object of the present invention is to provide a method and a hot-stamped molded article such as a character having an accurately desired outline.

In the method according to the present invention, first, as shown in FIG.
An opaque colored layer 3 is provided on the back surface 2 of a transparent molded article 1 made of synthetic resin or the like by any means such as printing or transfer foil. This paint layer 3 is made of a material with higher heat resistance than the material forming the molded product 1, and is formed except for the mark part 2a corresponding to the desired characters or figures on the back side 2, and the mark part is on the back side. 2 is exposed. A transfer foil 4 in the form of a film or sheet is placed above the color coating layer 3 and pressed by a press die 5, which will be described later. The structure of the transfer foil 4 is, for example, as shown in FIG. A protective film 4b and an aluminum vapor deposition layer 4c are provided on the heat-sensitive adhesive layer 4a.

The press die 5 is made of an elastic material such as rubber, and has a surface portion 6 that is sufficiently larger than the mark portion 2a of the molded product 1.
This surface portion 6 may have any shape such as a rectangle, but preferably has a similar shape that is larger than the mark portion 2a. Then, after heating the press die 5 and positioning it above the mark portion 2a of the molded product 1, the press die 5 is pressed from the upper surface side of the transfer foil 4 (!1 layer 4e side), as shown in FIG. As shown in FIG. 2, the surface portion 6 brings the transfer foil 4 into contact with the painted layer 3 around the mark portion 2a, and the portion 7 of the surface portion 6 corresponding to the mark portion is elastically deformed and the transfer foil 4 is also brought into contact with the back surface 2 of the mark part. When the mold 5 is further pressed from this state, the portion 7 of the surface portion 6 melts the resin forming the molded product 1 due to heat and protrudes from the other surface portions due to elastic deformation. As a result, the mark The portion 2a is formed in the recess 8 (see FIG. 4). When the boosting mold 5 is raised, the transfer foil 4 is peeled off from the first layer 4e at the peeling layer 4d, and is adhered and transferred to the recess 8 and the painted layer 3 around it via the adhesive layer 4a. Furthermore, since the coloring layer 3 is made of a material with higher heat resistance than the molded product 1, it does not change in quality due to the heat of the pressing mold 5, and the mark portion is damaged by the heat and pressing force conducted through the coloring layer. It is only slightly depressed as the back surface 2 around 2a is slightly depressed.

The molded product 1 hot-stamped in this way is shown in FIG.
Since a is recessed as a recess 8 from the back side, when viewed from the front side of the molded product 1, the characters etc. stand out and appear three-dimensional. In addition, the peripheral edge of the transfer foil 4 adhered along the recess 8 is adhered and transferred onto the coating layer 3, and is not visible from the surface side of the molded product 1, so the outline of the peripheral edge is not visible from the surface side of the molded product 1. Characters etc. can always be displayed with accurate predetermined outlines without the need for finishing. Furthermore, since the peripheral edge of the front surface 6 of the press mold 5 is pressed against the heat-resistant coating layer 3 without contacting the back surface 2 of the molded product 1, the letters, etc. correspond accurately to the mark portion 2a. This results in a sharp contour shape.

As described above, in the method of hot stamping a molded product according to the present invention, a coating layer having higher heat resistance than that of the transparent molded product is applied to the back side of the transparent molded product, excluding the mark portion such as a predetermined character or figure. After forming, using an elastic press having a surface area sufficiently larger than the mark part, heating the press die and pressing the transfer foil onto the mark part by the surface part, Since the mark part is formed in a recess by the surface part and the transfer foil is transferred to the recess, it is possible to accurately correspond to the mark part without requiring finishing processing of the transfer foil after transfer. It is possible to display outline-shaped characters, etc., and to obtain a desired three-dimensional effect without impairing the sharpness of the outline of the characters, etc.

In addition, in the hot-stamped molded product according to the present invention, a painted layer is provided on the back side of the transparent molded product except for the mark portion such as predetermined characters or figures, and the mark portion is removed during hot stamping. A recess is formed by a stamping die, and a transfer foil is transferred by the stamping die, and the transfer foil is integrally formed with the stamping part on the painted layer around the mark part. Since it is transferred using a mold, it has various excellent effects, such as improving the three-dimensional effect and accuracy of characters, etc., and being able to manufacture them at relatively low cost.
