。Conventional inspection equipment temporarily stops a container, such as a bottle, moving in a straight line, shines light from one side of the container, rotates the container in that position, and transmits light through the container using a photoelectric converter placed on the other side of the container. The entire layer of the container was exposed to light and inspected for deposits. however,
This method has the drawback that the inspection time is long and the work is troublesome because the container is first stopped and then rotated.

Referring to FIG. 1, there is shown an inspection device according to the invention, which includes a transport means 2 for linearly moving and rotating a container to be inspected, such as a bottle 1. In the illustrated embodiment, this conveying means includes a conventional linear belt conveyor 3 and a plurality of rotating rows 2 provided on this conveyor.
It consists of 4. These rotating rollers are arranged to surround the bottle 1 and rotate the bottle.

In this case, the bottle is also rotating at the same time. The light from the light emitting section 10 is transmitted through the bottle and is received by the reflecting mirror 22. It should be noted that this reflecting mirror is rotated by a driving means to follow the moving bottle on the belt conveyor so that the image of the center of the bottle is always reflected on the photoelectric conversion element.
