PURPOSE:To prevent change of characteristics of the compressor, which is due to the strain of welding, by a method wherein a compression mechanism is retained to the inner periphery of a holder plate made of iron plate while an L-shaped outer periphery thereof is secured to an enclosed case by welding. CONSTITUTION:The holder plate 8 of iron plate, formed by press forming, is secured by force fitting to the outer periphery 4a of the thick and strong bearing section of the bearing plate 4 of a compression mechanism. The holder plate 8 is provided with a circumferential rib 8a, whose outer periphery is formed into L-shape, and the outer peripheral section 8b is abutted against the inner surface of the enclosed case 1 to weld it thereto by spot welding or the like at the outer periphery 9 thereof. As a result, generation of strain in the compressor, which is due to heat upon welding, may be mitigated.
