Conventionally, the operating status of a magnetic recording and reproducing device (hereinafter abbreviated as VTR) that records and reproduces video and audio signals, etc. has been indicated by the geometric position of the operation button, indicator lamp, or actual operating status. It was customary to visually observe the movement of the magnetic tape.

In other words, when a VTR is recording or reproducing video and audio signals, it is effective at its functions, but when it is operating in other ways, such as fast-forwarding, rewinding, or
Alternatively, a situation may occur in which each mode, such as loading and unloading onto the magnetic drum, cannot be determined based on video or audio. In a normal VTR, the audio system in the above state is often set to silence by the monitor, and in particular, an RF converter is used to transmit a modulated signal similar to a broadcast wave from the VTR to the monitor. In systems that supply video or audio signals, depending on the mode, the noise signal generated from the FM demodulator may be reproduced as noise through the monitor's speakers. is maintained. However, even when there is no sound, the mechanical noise caused by the operation of various mechanisms unique to VTRs is often amplified and generated.
In general, the perception is relatively exaggerated compared to when viewing normal video or audio, respectively.
It often gives a sense of resistance and anxiety to audiovisual viewers. In addition, when the above-mentioned silent state continues for a long time, when the VTR is operated by a general customer with little technical knowledge, and with the spread of cassette-type magnetic tape,
In cases where it is not possible to directly visually observe the movement of the magnetic tape inside the VTR, reconfirmation is required even if the operating state can be observed by changes in the relative position due to pushing in or restoring the operator, or by blinking indicator lamps, etc. There are many cases in which a feeling of anxiety is maintained psychologically without any means of self-control. In view of the above-mentioned problems, the present invention has been developed to display the operating status of a VTR other than when it is recording or reproducing video or audio signals, in addition to the visual display of the VTR, the presence or absence of oscillating sound, or the presence or absence of this oscillating sound. This provides a mechanism for aurally displaying the type of information.

Due to this input, the output of the frequency bias oscillator 4 becomes a signal whose frequency changes intermittently, and after the amplitude is adjusted by the variable amplitude amplifier 5, it is applied to the output terminal 6. On the other hand, during fast-forwarding and rewinding operations, a signal indicating the above operation is applied to input terminal B of No. 2, and during this period only a signal indicating the above-mentioned operation is applied to input terminal 1, and output terminal 6 is continuously A signal whose frequency is swept is obtained. Note that linking each of the above-mentioned operation signals to each operation button can be easily realized using a well-known technique. It goes without saying that all of the above-mentioned circuits can be manufactured very simply and at low cost by using integrated circuits. That is, by adding an oscillation circuit configured using the above-mentioned oscillator to the audio output terminal of a VTR, the signal whose frequency changes intermittently during loading and unloading can be changed to a signal whose frequency changes intermittently during fast forwarding and rewinding. Each changing signal can be aurally determined on a monitor, and the sound quality and volume can be adjusted appropriately at any time. In other words, by changing the sound quality of the operation mode sound such that it gradually shifts from low to high pitch (or from high pitch to low pitch) depending on the elapsed operation time, when a pair of audience members operate, In comparison, it is possible to provide a pleasant sound without causing psychological anxiety, and it is easy to immediately identify the operation mode sound. It is also possible to relatively reduce noise such as mechanical noise unique to the device. In the above embodiment, a cassette-type magnetic tape was described, but an oven-reel type magnetic tape can also have the same effect, and a data logger that records and plays back signals that input information such as state changes, and data acquisition and analysis. Needless to say, the present invention can also be applied to magnetic tapes built into devices.

As described above, according to the present invention, there is provided an astable oscillator that generates an intermittent signal based on the input of a mode signal during loading and unloading operations of a magnetic tape, and the intermittent signal or fast forwarding and rewinding of the magnetic tape. Inputs a mode signal during operation, and sends out an output signal whose frequency changes intermittently during the loading and unloading operation modes, and sends out an output signal whose frequency changes continuously during the fast forward and rewind operation modes. The present invention is equipped with a frequency sweep oscillator, and the identification tone corresponding to the operation mode can be aurally recognized based on the output of the frequency sweep oscillator, so that the operation mode of the magnetic recording/reproducing device can be aurally determined. In addition, it is possible to change the sound quality of the operation mode sound in stages according to the elapsed operation time, giving the operator a pleasant sound without making the operator feel psychologically anxious compared to a single sound, and confirming that the operation mode sound is a pleasant sound. It is possible to immediately identify the operating mode, and it is also possible to relatively reduce noise such as mechanical noise inherent in conventional devices by the identification sound of the operation mode itself.
