なうために、テープに圧縮録音であることおよび圧縮比
を確実に明記せねばならず、また再生時には使用者がテ
ープ表示から判断して再生系の伸張回路のオン、オフお
よび伸張比を選択し手動で切換えなければならない。ま
た、テープに録音方式表示のない場合には適正な切換え
が行なえず、正しい再生が行われているかどうかが全く
不明といつた欠点があつた。本発明の目的は、上記の欠
点をなくし、録音されたテープをテープレコーダで再生
することにより圧縮されていない普通録音か圧縮録音さ
れたものかを検出し、使用者の手をわずられすことなく
自動的に適正な再生系に切換わり、かつ表示する機能を
有したテープレコーダを提供することにある。

イロツト信号には3KHzの搬送波を圧縮制御信号でF
M変調したものを用い、圧縮比の識別用信号として圧縮
制御信号の帯域外に単一周波数の識別信号を多重して送
ることも考えられる。
