In a clothes dryer that has a heater section and a blower section for blowing warm air into a storage section that receives damp clothes, a humidity sensor is provided in the exhaust section through which exhaust air from the storage section passes, and the humidity sensor detects the humidity. A clothes dryer characterized in that the heater section and the air blower section are controlled to stop in response to the humidity level of the exhaust gas flowing into the air becoming below a predetermined level.
