Claims

The movement of the steering wheel is transmitted to the rotary valve via the input shaft and torsion bar, pressure oil from the oil pump is selectively supplied to and discharged from the power cylinder for steering, and a spring preloads the torsion bar in its neutral state. In this power steering device, a groove is formed on the outer periphery of the input shaft, and a ball is fitted into a through hole in the output shaft opposite to the groove.
A spring reaction force device in which an arcuate or annular spring disposed around the outer periphery of the output shaft presses the ball against the groove to apply preload to the torsion bar in a neutral state.
