Abstract

PURPOSE:To form a pattern integrally fused to an outer surface of a resin molded item, by thermally fusing a sheet material that has a different color from the resin molded item and is compatible with the resin molded item to the outer surface of the molded item using a press mold with a shape corresponding to the required pattern, that is, a character, figure, sign, etc. CONSTITUTION:When a pattern 2 is to be formed on a molding 1, a sheet material 2' is used that is compatible at least with an outer part 13 where the pattern 2 will be formed and has a colour different from that of the outer surface 11. First the sheet material 2' is positioned to be spaced from the outer surface 11 of the molding 1. Then a pressing mold 3 is lowered until the sheet material 2' is sunk from the outer surface 11 of the molding 1, and the pressing mold 3 is heated. Part of the sheet material that is in contact with the press mold 3 becomes a melted or semi-melted state to integrate with the molding 1. In this state, when the sheet material 1 is stretched in directions indicated at X, the sheet material 1 is broken and elevated, and only the softened and fused part remains on the outer surface 11 of the molding thereby forming the pattern 2.

Conventionally, for this type of pattern, a transfer film of a different color from that of the resin molded product is pressed into the surface of the resin molded product using a rod-shaped pressing die, and is then adhered and molded as a transfer film. However, when this transfer film is used in harsh environments such as those used for the exterior of automobiles, it is easily scratched and the base material is damaged. There is a risk of exposing or peeling off the
In particular, when the molding body is made of soft synthetic resin containing plasticizer, the plasticizer migrates to the outer surface with long-term use, causing the transfer film to float, and in extreme cases, It starts to peel off.

DISCLOSURE OF THE INVENTION The present invention provides a sheet material that is integrally fused and crimped to the outer surface of a resin molded product, so that it can withstand use in harsh environments and yet has a pattern that is firm and unaffected by plasticizers. An object of the present invention is to provide a method for forming a pattern on a resin molded product that allows it to be fixed.

That is, in the pattern forming method for a resin molded product according to the present invention, a sheet material having a different color and compatibility with the resin molded product is applied to the outer surface of the resin molded product according to a linear pattern such as a character, a symbol, etc. By heating and welding the resin molded parts in a suppressed manner, a pattern that is integrally fused with each other is formed on the outer surface of the resin molded product.

In the illustrated embodiment, the molding for a vehicle is a resin molded product 1, and an appropriate pattern 2 such as letters 9, figures, symbols, etc., of a color different from that of the molding body is formed on the substantially flat outer surface 11 of the molding. (See Figure 1). The molding 1 integrates a core part 12 made of foamed vinyl chloride resin and an outer part 13 made of non-foamed soft polyvinyl chloride resin containing a plasticizer so as to cover the entire circumference of the core part 12. Extrusion molded products are used.

When forming the pattern 2 on this molding 1 (see Fig. 2), a sheet material that is compatible with at least the outer shell 13 and colored differently from the outer surface 11 is used as the surface on which the pattern 2 is applied. For example, a sheet material having a thickness of about 0.05 layers made of a soft polyvinyl chloride resin that is the same as the outer shell 13 and has a different color from the outer surface 11 can be used. The sheet material 2' is in the form of a strip and a tape slightly wider than the outer dimensions of the row pattern, and the outer surface 1 is formed on the end surface of the suppression mold 3 having a shape corresponding to the desired pattern.

First, the sheet material 2' is applied to the outer surface 1 of the molding l.
1, which can be pulled by the lower movement of the pressing die 3 into contact with the outer surface ti of the molding l (see FIG. 2a), then the sheet material 2'
When the suppression die 3 is further lowered and heated until it invaginates from the outer surface portion 11 of the molding l toward the inside, the sheet portion that comes into direct contact with the press die 3 softens and becomes molten or semi-molten. state, and the molding l melts together with the outer surface ll of the molding l.
It comes to be integrated with. In this state, the sheet material 2'
When the sheet material 2' is pulled in the left-right direction Only the softened and welded portion remains on the outer surface 11 of the molding 1 to form the pattern 2. At this time, since the sheet material 2' is press-fitted into the outer surface of the molding 1 in advance and then heat-welded, the molten or semi-molten sheet material does not bulge out from the periphery of the pressing die 3.

This embodiment is suitable for forming the pattern 2 on the molding 1. Alternatively, the sheet material 2' may be shaped into a predetermined shape and then heat-welded using the compression mold 3. The sheet material 2' can also be pressed against the outer surface 11 of the molding l. The pressing die 3 is heated to a pressure of 130 to 200 in advance before crimping the sheet material 2'.
℃ may be heated, and when the outer surface portion 11 of the resin molded product 1 is invaginated to form the pattern 2 to its full size, the temperature may be heated to 80° C., which is the glass transition temperature, in order to facilitate the invagination of the outer surface 8B11. It is preferable to make the resin molded product l elastic by heat treatment at about 90°C.Furthermore, the pattern 2 is not limited to the case where the outer surface portion 11 of the resin molded product l is buried in a recess.
It can also be formed by welding and fixing the outer surface portion 11 so that the outer surface portion 11 has a thickness so as to be integrally fused with each other.

For example, at the corners of letters such as "R" and "L", the sheet material 2' completely matches the outer shape of the suppression mold 3 and remains as a kind of fluff-like material 2'' without being separated. A phenomenon occurs (Figure 3a).

Since it is not welded to the outer surface portion 11 of the holder, it can be easily removed by hand. However, the present inventors discovered that this phenomenon occurs in the acute-angled portion 21.21... (see Figure 4) of the angle of 90'' or less, and that
It has been found that if it is formed into a radiused shape of 5 mm or more (see FIG. 5), no fluff will occur and there will be almost no visual change. In response to this, when the edge surface of the pressing die 3 was pressed to form a rounded shape of 0.5 mm or more at the portion corresponding to the acute angle part of the line pattern, no fluff was generated.

Effects of the Invention As described above, according to the method of forming a pattern on a resin molded product according to the present invention, sheet materials that are compatible with the resin molded product are welded to the outer surface so that they are integrally fused with each other. It can withstand the usage environment and does not peel off due to plasticizer.
