Conventional Structure and Problems Conventional clothes dryers are equipped with electrodes that detect the degree of dryness of clothes and a thermistor that detects the temperature of the exhaust air discharged from the drying chamber of the clothes dryer, for example, the rotating drum. If the predetermined degree of dryness cannot be detected with the electrode within a predetermined time from the start of the drying process, the drying process is stopped at that point and an abnormality notification is issued. The time from the start to the end of the drying process was set to a long time so that the clothes would be completely dry under any conditions, such as the amount of clothes.

In such conventional clothes dryers, when the amount of clothes is extremely small, the electrodes cannot be detected because the clothes do not touch the electrodes, or the electrodes cannot be detected due to a failure in the electrode circuit, and it takes a long time. The drying process continues for hours, consuming unnecessary energy, and causes wrinkles due to overdrying of the clothes.

As shown in Figure 4, the exhaust gas temperature during hot air drying operation is T1 when there is a large amount of clothing, and T2 when there is a very small amount of clothing. It has become clear. The relative value of the exhaust gas temperature is memorized based on the output of the thermistor 41L of the exhaust gas temperature detection means 4, and a predetermined degree of dryness is achieved in step 22 according to the output of the electrode 1a of the dryness degree detection means 1 within a predetermined exhaust temperature. If it is determined that this has occurred, the process proceeds to step 23 to proceed to the next second drying process. On the other hand, if it is determined that the predetermined exhaust temperature has been reached before the predetermined degree of dryness is reached, the process proceeds to the next first drying step in step 24.

The first drying process is stored in the microcomputer 16 so that the required time is shorter than the second drying process, and the constant is such that the hot air drying operation is continued for a certain period of time from the time when the predetermined exhaust temperature is reached. Continue, and when finished, stop energizing the heater and motor.

According to the above embodiment, when the amount of clothes is extremely small, when the driver accidentally drives the vehicle without paying for the clothes (when a child is driving mischievously), or when the electrode detection circuit fails, the exhaust temperature value determines the next drying time. Since the process is automatically set, it prevents unnecessary use of energy and also prevents wrinkles.
