Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a reduction in warming-up time, a decrease in the axial temp. difference of a heating roller and a prevention of bearing heating by providing partition members between the heating roller and a heat generating pipe. CONSTITUTION:There is >=3mm. clearance between the inside diameter of a roller body 1 which is supported by bearings 2 and is further attached with a gear 3 and the outside diameter of a halogen tube heater 4 even in the open port parts at both end sides of the body 1 where the outside diameter is reduced. Partition members 5 which narrow or close the spacing are provided by fitting the members onto the outside diameter of the heater 4 or fitting the same into the bone in the open ports on both end sides of the body 1. The members 5 are provided by using supplementarily stoppers 6 for the outside diameter of the heater 4 or may be fitted into the bore of the body 1. The members 5 are formed of metals, ceramics, asbestos, glass fibers, heat-resistant rubber and other suitable heat-resistant materials.

れている。しかし、このような熱ローラ定着装置を用い
た記録装置は、なお、熱ローラ定着装置のウオーミング
アツプに時間が掛り、また、記録装置の機内温度が上昇
し易いと云う問題がある。

着装置のウオーミングアツプ時間を短縮し、記録装置の
機内温度上昇を防止するためになされたものであり、上
述のような加熱ローラの開口部とそこを挿通している発
熱管との間隙が3龍以上もあると云うことがウオーミン
グアツプ時間と機内温度の上昇に大きく影響しているこ
とを見出してなされたものである。

ングアツプ時間の短縮と機内温度の上昇防止の目的を達
成したものである。

のほか、両端側開口部分に到るまで内、外径が中央部と
同一のものでもよいし、その他の形状のものでもよい。

単な手段により、加熱ローラすなわち、熱ローラ定着装
置のウオーミングアツプ時間を著しく短縮し、加熱ロー
ラの軸方向の温度差も少なくし、軸受けの過熱も防止し
て寿命を延ばし、機内温度の上昇も防止して、電力消費
も少なくすると云う優れた効果を奏する。
