Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a numerical controller, to which users can give G-commands while making conversations with the CRT without referring to an instruction book, by providing an explaining graphic displaying circuit which displays explaining graphics for illustrating formats corresponding to each G-command when a G-command is inputted. CONSTITUTION:When a work program is inputted through keys from an operation panel 3, a G-command is received by the G-command checking circuit 21 of an explaining graphic displaying circuit 20 and the received G-command is compared with a G-command table 22. When the G-command is an usable one, a standard graphic corresponding to the inputted G-command is referred to a standard graphic drawing table 24 at the next display circuit 16 and the standard graphic is displayed on a CRT17. That is, an explaining standard graphic is displayed in a standard graphic displaying area 18 at the right end of an editing screen when keys N, 3, G, and 1 are depressed in the order and the screen operates to explain X, A, R, etc., to be inputted next. When the G-command is unusable one, an error message is displayed on the CRT17 by an error processing circuit 23.

A detector 12 is attached to the motor 11 to detect the amount of displacement of the motor 11 and feed it back to the servo unit 10 to drive the motor 11 by a predetermined amount. The spindle rotation detector 13 is attached to the spindle for the purpose of detecting the rotation speed of a rotating workpiece or rotating tool, and feeds back the rotation speed of the spindle to the pulse distribution circuit 9 to determine the rotation speed of the motor 11. Synchronize with the spindle rotation speed. In addition, PCl4 controls other than the shaft drive of the machine tool 15,
