Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the load on a central processor and improve the performance by making a write check on data at the side of a data storage processor. CONSTITUTION:Data from a host device 11 is sent to a transmitting circuit 14 and written in a data storage device 13 with a control signal (a) from a write/ read control circuit 15. If an abnormal state detecting circuit 16 detects abnormality of the host device 11 before the writing of a specific number of data is completed, a control circuit 15 stops transferring operation. Then, a data record for writing the record number where the abnormality occurs in software and record location of a predetermined data storage device 13 is transferred to the data storage device 13 through a data transmitting circuit 13. Consequently, when the host device 11 becomes abnormal before the writing of write request data from the host device 11 is completed, the record number of the abnormality is recorded in the software and predetermined record location of the data stoage device 13.

FIG. 1 is a block diagram showing one embodiment of the present invention. In FIG. 1, the present embodiment is a data storage processing device 12 that controls writing data from a host device 11 to a data storage device 13 or controls reading data from the data storage device 13 in response to a request from a host device 11. An abnormality in the host device 11 sent from the means 15 for controlling data writing to and reading from the data storage device 13 and the host device 11 that is the request source for writing and reading data. Abnormal state detection means 16 that detects a status notification signal and an abnormality in the host device 11; and data transmission that is controlled by the write and read control means 15 and that transmits write or read data requested by the host device to the data storage device 13. means 14, when a signal notifying that writing is in progress from the write/read control means 15 and an abnormality notification signal from the abnormal state detecting means 16 occur simultaneously, a data record indicating an abnormal writing state is determined in advance. The record number in which the abnormality occurred is written in the record position in the data storage device. FIG. 2 shows a process 70- at the time of abnormality detection, which is an explanation of one embodiment of the present invention. First, data from the host device 11 is sent to the data transmission circuit 14, and the passed data is sent to the data storage device 13 and written in by a control signal aK from the write/read control circuit 15. In this embodiment, after writing a predetermined number of data from the data transmission circuit 14,
If the abnormal state detection circuit 16 detects an abnormality in the host device 11 between the start of the write operation and the end of writing of a predetermined number of data, the write/read control circuit 15 transfers the data through the data transmission circuit 14. After stopping the transfer operation of the record being transferred to the storage device 13, the software transfers the data record to which the abnormal record number is to be written in the record position in the data storage device 13 that has been agreed upon in advance. The data is transferred to the data storage device 13 through the circuit 14. Thus, in the data storage device 13, if the host device 11 becomes abnormal before the writing of the write request data from the host device 11 is completed, the record number of the abnormality is recorded in the record position determined in advance by the software. .

Therefore, in this embodiment, after an abnormality occurs in the host device 11, when the host device 11 recovers and a read request is issued from the host device 11, the write/read control circuit 15 first reads the record determined in advance by the software. Read the data record of the position and send it to the host device 11. Data transmission circuit 1

In this way, in this embodiment, when the data sending source, which is the host device 11, breaks down while writing data to the data storage device 13, and it becomes impossible to manage the location of the data being written on the data storage device. Next, when the host device 11 reads the data, it determines the record number in which the abnormality was written at the record position in the data storage device 13 determined in advance. This is to report to the host device 11 that the host device 11 has failed while data is being written and data is not being written normally.

(Effects of the Invention) As explained above, the present invention reduces the load on the central processing unit by checking data writing on the data storage processing device side, in contrast to the conventional method of checking data writing programmatically. This has the effect of improving performance.
