Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a higher output than before and to improve characteristics of high-density magnetic recording and high-frequency magnetic recording by forming a protection film at a gap formation part and then etching the surface of a ferrite head core and improving magnetic characteristics. CONSTITUTION:Plural grooves are formed in a ferrite bar whose outside shape is polished, glass is molded 1 in the grooves, and the gap formation surface 2 is polished. Two ferrite bars formed as mentioned above are adhered mutually forming a gap 3 of spacers or a gap, and then cut into head cores. The surface of a head core is etched. リン酸のエツチング温度は、常温から80’C程度まで
の間ならば、エツチング時間を変えることにより、十分
適応できる。また、エツチングの際に注意しなければな
らないことは、ギャップ部分を侵食破壊させないことで
ある。本実施例に於いては、ギャップ部分のエツチング
による侵食破壊は生じなかったが、ギャップの形成部保
護のために樹脂による保護膜4を第3図の如く形成する
ことは、様々なエツチング方法を使用する際に有効であ
る。
