て集光したレーザ光を通過させる穴を有するノズルを加
工ヘッドの先端に設け、加工ヘッドの内部に溶接用シー
ルドガスを供給し、レーザ光と溶接用シール１′ガスと
を同軸状に流し、レーザ光によって被加工物を溶接する
レーザ溶接用ノズルにおいて、前記ノズルの穴の径を前
記レーザ光が通過できる限界まで小さくし、前記レーザ
光を通過させる穴を有するノズル又は前記加工ヘッドの
側面に前記溶接用シールドガスの噴出する穴を前記レー
ザ光の光軸に対して所定の角度を持って設け、該穴より
噴出した前記溶接用シールドガスを一時的に保持するた
めのカバーを前記レーザ溶接用ノズルの周囲に設けたこ
