Abstract

PURPOSE:To make watertightness and soundproofness improvable so remarkably without entailing an increase in sliding resistance, by forming a thin projecting strip in the top surface of a hollow seal part. CONSTITUTION:A weather strip 2 consists of a setting base part 5 and a hollow seal part 6, while a glass fitting groove 3 and a sash fitting groove 4 both are formed in this setting base part 5. The hollow seal part 6 is one that is incidentally made up in almost semicircular, hollow form in its section on a surface which becomes the outer circumferential side of a sun roof, and a thin projecting strip 11 is formed on the top surface. The projecting strip 11 is made up by means of extrusion molding together with the hollow seal part 6 and the setting base part 5, while projecting length is set to be a degree equal to each bristle 7 or some-what shorter. With this constitution, smooth motion in the slide operation of the sun roof is in no case impaired any longer.

Conventional technology For sunroofs that are attached to the opening of the roof panel of automobiles in a sliding or removable manner, a comparison is generally made between the inner circumferential side of the drip formed around the opening on the vehicle body side and the sunroof. In addition to providing a precise seal, a weather strip attached to the outer edge of the sunroof is pressed against the outer circumferential side of the drip relatively gently to form a double seal.

Figure w41 shows an example of a conventional weather strip 2 that is attached to the outer edge of a glass sunroof 1, for example. This weather strip 2 includes a mounting base 5 having a glass fitting groove 3 and a sash fitting groove 4, and a hollow shape having a substantially semicircular cross section formed incidentally on the surface of the mounting base 5 that becomes the outer peripheral side of the sunroof. It is composed of a hollow seal part 6,
It is integrally extruded from an elastic material such as rubber, and after the molding, flocking 7 is applied only to the outer surface of the hollow seal portion 6 by electrostatic flocking or the like. The flocked flocks 7 have a length of about 1 to 2 mm, and the weather strip 2 is relatively gently pressed against the roof panel 8 on the outer periphery of the drip drop within the length of the flocked flocks 7. The sunroof 1 is designed to have a sealing effect while reducing the sliding resistance caused when the sunroof 1 is slid. Note that 9 indicates a sash attached in a frame shape around the glass sunroof 1, and 10 indicates an adhesive.

However, although the conventional weather strip 2 that seals only with the flocking 7 has the advantage of reducing sliding resistance, it is still insufficient in terms of sealing effect, and is not watertight against rainwater. In addition to poor performance, the sound insulation performance was also low, and the effectiveness of double sealing on the inside and outside was halved.

Structure of the Invention The weather strip for a sunroof according to the present invention includes a mounting base attached to the outer edge of the sunroof, and a surface of the mounting base that is attached to the outer peripheral side of the sunroof, and has a hollow shape of approximately semicircular cross section. , a weather strip for a sunroof consisting of a hollow seal part whose surface is flocked, characterized in that a thin protrusion is formed on the top surface of the hollow seal part, and the protrusion is attached to a loop panel together with the flock. etc., to completely seal the gaps between the flocked hairs.

FIG. 2 is a sectional view of a sunroof weather strip 2 according to the present invention, and this weather strip 2 has the following features:
The mounting bases 5 are integrally extruded as described above.
and a hollow seal part 6, and the mounting base 5 has a glass fitting groove 3 and a sash fitting groove 4 formed therein. The hollow seal part 6 is formed as a hollow part with a substantially semicircular cross section on the surface of the mounting base 5 that is the outer circumferential side of the sunroof, and the outer surface has a flocked hair of 7 degrees with a length of about 1 to 2 mm. Thin protrusions 11 are formed on the top surface. This protrusion 11 is integrally extruded with the hollow seal part 6 and the mounting base 5 in a shape that protrudes in a substantially horizontal direction with respect to the roof, and its protrusion length is approximately the same as the length of the flocking 7. Or it is set slightly shorter than this.

Therefore, when the weather strip 2 is brought into relatively gentle pressure contact with the loop panel 8 (see FIG. 1) as described above, in addition to the sealing effect provided by the flocked hair 7, the tips of the protrusions 11 are brought into contact with the loop panel 8 (see FIG. 1). Direct contact with the surface, flocking 7
Completely seal the gap between the inside and outside. Therefore, compared to a seal using only the flocked hair 7, extremely high water-like 9M sound quality can be ensured. On the other hand, since the protrusion 11 has an extremely thin wall thickness in the vertical direction in the figure, the sealing reaction force generated thereby is relatively small, that is, the increase in sliding resistance is so small that it can be ignored in practical terms. Therefore, smooth operation such as sliding operation of the sunroof is not impaired.

Although the above embodiment describes a weather strip used for a glass sunroof, the present invention is not limited thereto, and it goes without saying that various changes can be made to the shape of the mounting base 5, etc.

Effects of the Invention As is clear from the above explanation, the weather strip for a sunroof according to the present invention can improve the sealing performance without increasing the sliding resistance when the sunroof slides. Watertightness and sound insulation against rainwater and car wash water are improved, and the seal reliability and marketability of the sunroof portion as a whole can be improved.
