別な予成形プレス装置が必要となって圧延設備ライン長
さの増大、設備費の高騰等の問題が生じる。このため、
竪ロールの外周に、プレスをする面が平坦に°なった金
型を旋回自在に設け、予成形プレス時には金型を旋回さ
せて所定位置に位置させ、該金型によりスラブの先後端
隅部を予成形プレスする方法が提案されているが、この
場合には金型の停止精度が問題になる。
