Abstract

PURPOSE:To simplify the construction of a sheet feed part, by a method wherein the cassette cover of a sheet cassette is used as a hand inserting tray also. CONSTITUTION:In case hand insertion takes place, a hand inserting tray 10 is pushed in a duplicator body 1 to move it to an advancing position. This isolates a sheet feed roll 9 from a sheet cassette 1 to form a hand inserting sheet feed passage on the hand inserting tray 10. Thereafter, with a copy start button depressed, the sheet feed roll 9 is turned in the direction of an arrow mark. By inserting the sheet 4 in the hand inserting sheet feed passage, the sheet 4 is conveyed through a sheet feed guide plate 11 to a sensitized drum by means of the sheet feed roll 9. In case the sheet is automatically fed, the hand inserting tray 10 is held in a backward movement position, and by placing a sheet cassette 1 in a space, in which the cassette is placed, the upper surface of the sheet 4 is forced into press contact with the sheet feed roll 9 through the force of a compression spring 6. The sheet feed roll 9 is rotated in the rotation of an arrow mark to convey the sheet 4.
