Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve operability and to prevent decrease in working efficiency without the need for changing the position of a hole by matching the position of holes in a copying machine body and performing copying even if specific paper such as punched paper having directivity is set to the copying machine body. CONSTITUTION:Position detectors 13 for holes 10a of paper 10 are provided on both sides of a paper tray 9. Each detector 13 consists of two pairs of light emitting elements 13a provided above the tray 9 and photodetecting elements 13b which are installed below the tray 9 and detect the light from the elements 13a past the holes 10a and the through-holes 9a in the bottom. The positions of the holes 10a of the specific paper 10 set on the tray 9 are detected by the detectors 13. A mechanism 14 for upsetting the next paper is selectively used by the signals for the hole position from these detectors 13. The specific paper in a containing part 14d is thereafter delivered to a conveying path 12 by rolls 14b, 14c and arrives at a photodetector 7 and the toner image is transferred. Generation of a mis-copy is thus obviated even if there is the hole 10a in either of the right or left direction of the tray 9.

Prior Art When copying onto specific directional paper such as perforated paper using a copying machine that uses the conventional method of copying from the last page to the first page of a manuscript (NtOI method), one-sided copying of the paper is required. For double-sided copying, it is necessary to reverse the position of the holes on a particular sheet of paper each time, making it easy for operational errors to occur.

Embodiment Hereinafter, an embodiment of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to Fig. 1. In Fig. 1, l is a main body of a copying machine, which has a platen 3 on top of which a document 2 to be copied is placed; An automatic document feeder 4 is installed on this platen 3. The automatic document feeder 4 sequentially transports the documents 2 stored in the document storage section 5 with the last page facing down onto the platen 3, and stacks the copied documents 2 on top of the top document 2.
Although the 10,000-type document feeder 4'f is not used, the document 2 may be manually set onto the platen 3 from the last page to perform copying. An optical system 6 is provided below the platen 3 to expose and scan the original 2f on the platen 3 while moving along the platen 3, and the optical system 6 directs light reflected from the original 2 onto a photoreceptor 7. An electrostatic latent image is formed on the photoreceptor 7, and this electrostatic latent image is transferred to the developing device 8.
It was developed into an L-Katona image.

The image is transferred onto a sheet of paper 1o fed from a paper tray 9. The paper tray 9 accommodates specific papers 10 such as perforated papers in a stacked state, and is carried out to the transport path 12 by a paper feed roll I+ provided above the paper tray 9, 91 sheets at a time from the top. In addition, holes 10α for specific paper 10 are provided on both sides of paper tray 9.
A detector 13 is provided to detect the position of. The detector 13 includes two pairs of light emitting elements 13α provided above the paper tray 9, a hole 1oα of the S specific paper 1o provided below the paper tray 9, and a through hole 9α provided at the bottom of the paper tray 9. These detectors 13 detect the position of the hole 10α in the specific paper 10 set on the paper tray 9. The next paper reversing mechanism 14 is selected and used based on the hole position signals from these detectors 13.

Effects of the Invention As described in detail above, the present invention enables the printing of specific directional paper such as perforated paper, even if it is arbitrarily set in the main body of the copying machine.
Since copies are made by aligning the hole positions within the copier main body, there is no need to change the hole positions each time one single-sided or double-sided copying is performed. As a result, operability is improved, and problems such as wasted paper or decreased work efficiency due to operational errors can be eliminated.
