ング内にあって該ラックバ−を摺動支持するラックガイ
ドと該ラックガイドをラックバ−側へ押圧するスプリン
グとからなるラックピニオン式ステアリング装置におい
て、該ラックガイドは基体と該基体に嵌合保持される摺
動片とから構成されており、該基体は外周面が円筒面を
なし、一方の端部に凹曲面塵、他方の端部に中空円筒部
を備えているとともに該凹曲面塵の底部には該中空円筒
部に通じる円孔が設けられており、該凹曲面塵の周縁部
には曲面に沿う一様な高さの帯状の突条が形成されてい
て該凹曲面塵を囲んでおり、該摺動片は薄鋼板と該薄鋼
板上に一体に被着形成された多孔質焼結金属層と該焼結
金属層に含浸されかつその一部が該焼結金属層上に薄層
として形成された合成樹脂とか4なる被層材料で形成さ
れており、該摺動片は合成樹脂層を内側にして形成され
た円弧状の内、外周面を有するとともに該外周面に一体
に形成された突起を有しており、該摺動片は該突起を凹
曲面塵の円孔に圧入嵌着せしめるとともに摺動片の内周
面番前記帯状の突条から突出せしめて該凹曲面塵に嵌合
保持されてい  、ることを特徴とするラックピニオン
