Abstract

PURPOSE:To allow characters and graphic information to be used by a popular television receiver and to keep said characters and graphic information by a hard copy by reading optically the characters and graphic information indicated by binary codes at one part of a television screen. CONSTITUTION:A receiver is constituted with the part, which optically reads characters and graphic information indicated with binary codes at one part of a television screen and converts them into an electrical signal, the part which processes the electrical signal and an outputting device to inform contents of infromation of the outside. For example, in terms of a binary code receiver utilizing television broadcasting, binary codes are displayed every field according to the prescribed display method. A photoelectric conversion circuit 1 reads optical signals and converts them into electrical signals. Moreover an A/D conversion circuit 2 converts them into binary signals. Due to the signal from a timing generating circuit 4 a signal processing circuit 3 fetches these binary signals. Contents of this information are given to the outside through an outputting device 5.
