Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve corrosion resistance of a door lock by forming the lower end of a glass run at the rear side of a sash such that the lower end is cut off slantly to extend downward as it is spaced from the door lock. CONSTITUTION:The lower end 3a of a glass run 3 is formed by sharpening it at the side remote from a door lock 7 and at the outer lip 3b side and cutting off it slantly at an angle of about 40-50 deg.. Thus, water drips attached to a door glass 1 and water transferring along the glass run 3 are sent along the lower end surface 8 to be collected in the base of the outer lip 3b and spaced from the door lock 7. Thus, the corrosion resistance of the door lock 7 is improved.

As is well known, most of the water droplets adhering to the surface of the door glass 10 of an automobile door as shown in FIG.
It flows down along the sash 2, for example, the sash rear side 2.
The water flowing down near a passes through the glass run 3 fitted to the sash 2a and enters the inside of the door panel 4. On the other hand, in recent automobile doors, in order to reduce the weight of the vehicle body or to eliminate interference with the door lock 7, an outside handle 5 inside the door panel 4 is installed as shown in the second figure of the rear section 2aFi of the sash. It is terminated at a nearby position, and the lower end 3a of the glass run 3 is also connected to the rear side 2a of the sash.
The lower part of the door glass l is supported by a damping member (not shown) when the door glass l is lowered.

By the way, since the lower end portion 3a of the conventional glass run 3 has an end shape in which the glass run 3 is cut horizontally in the transverse direction, the water flowing down inside the door panel 4 along the glass run 3 is approximately the same as the glass run 3. Irregular water droplets drip from the horizontal lower end surface 6, but the door lock 7 is located near the rear side part 2a of the sash, and the water droplets scattered from the lower end surface 6 of the glass run 3 fall onto the door lock 7. Multiply. For this reason, conventionally, the door opening and the rotating parts of the lock 7 are subjected to strict anti-rust treatment or grease is applied to the same parts, but if raindrops etc. adhere to the door lock 7, electrolysis may occur. Corrosion occurs and grease flows out, so a sufficient rust prevention effect cannot be expected, and in cold regions, there is a risk that water that gets stuck to the door lock K may freeze, causing the door lock to malfunction. .

In view of the problem of malfunction of conventional door locks as described above, the present invention aims to provide a structure that prevents water droplets flowing down through the glass run from hanging on the door lock. The lower end of the glass run located on the rear side of the sash is cut diagonally so that it extends downward as it moves away from the door lock.

FIG. 3 is an enlarged view corresponding to FIG. 2 of an automobile door according to the present invention, and the same structural parts as in FIG. 2 are given the same reference numerals as in FIG. 2. The feature of this embodiment is that the lower end 3a of the glass run 3, which is on the side far from the door lock 7 and on the outer lip 3b side, is sharpened and cut diagonally.

That is, the inclined lower end surface 8 of the glass run 3 is in the range of about 40° to 45° with respect to the transverse direction when the glass run 3 is unfolded as shown in the fourth figure and the actuator lip 3b side is sharpened. It was obtained by cutting diagonally.

Since the illustrated embodiment has the above structure, most of the water droplets adhering to the door glass l flow through the outer lip 3b of the glass run 3 and into the door panel 4, and other water droplets of the glass run 3 flow into the door panel 4. The water that flows down through the glass run 3 is also deflected toward the base of the outer lip 3b along the lower end surface 8 of the glass run 3, so all of the water that has flowed down the glass run 3 flows from the door lock 7 as shown in the figure. Concentrate on the far position (front side) and drip directly below.

In this case, when viewed from directly above, the lock 7 is located at the rear of the glass run 3 and the sash 2, and the rod 9 connecting the outside handle 5 and the door lock 7 is located at the rear of the glass run 3 and the door lock 7.
Since the glass run 30 goes around the outside of the vehicle in approximately the same horizontal plane as the lower end 3a, the falling water does not come into contact with the door lock 7, and it also stays away from the rod that connects the door lock to the inside handle (not shown). Since the water flows down at this position, there is no risk of water splashing onto this rod or reaching the inside handle, etc.).

In the above actual example, the glass run 3 is cut diagonally in a straight line in the unfolded state as shown in Fig.

As is clear from the above description, according to the present invention, by simply cutting the lower end of the glass run diagonally, it is possible to prevent water from splashing on the door lock, thereby preventing rust on the door lock. It is effective in preventing freezing and eliminating the fear of the door lock not working properly even when used during long periods of bad weather.
