Abstract

PURPOSE:To attain to prevent sticking and to reduce the abrasion of a printing head, by providing a heat meltable ink layer to the single surface of a support and forming a heat resistant protective layer to the opposite surface there of by coating starch particles along with a binder solution. CONSTITUTION:A thermal transfer material 11 is formed by applying a heat meltable ink layer 3 to the single surface of a support 4 while further applying a heat protective layer 12, which is a discontinuous layer formed by coating starch particles along with a binder solution, to the back surface of said support 12. By this method, sticking is effectively prevented even if a coating amount is reduced and, in addtion, a printing head is hardly abraded.

This J, Una iJi 'lI/l Shasha, J3i-C, has a support body (4) in contact with the cylinder head (5) that is made of plastic (-), which is softened under heating and becomes a so-called plastic film. This causes a lie-1-ing phenomenon, which impedes the running of the transfer material, which in turn causes the transfer of the material to the head (
5) may cause damage.

In the present invention (13), the starch is added to the binder solution and b.
It is coated on the support. Generally, it is applied onto a support by the 3-bar coating method, the Gura 1115 method, the Root Soh method, and the Smoothing Par 17j method. In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the starch particles are preferably applied in discrete locations. Cf'J 4 as a discontinuous layer
The reason for this is that the print head comes into contact with the starch particles locally and creates a space with the cystic film, so there is less wear on the cylinder head.
