Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the size and cost of a device by blowing the outdoor air toward the evacuation direction of waste air and mixing the same in the waste air thereby decreasing the temp. of the waste air and enabling the reduction in the evacuation path. CONSTITUTION:The waste air discharged from a flash lamp light emitting part 1 and a flash fixing body part 6 into a duct 5 flows like an arrow in the duct 5 and is mixed with the outdoor air sucked by a propeller fan 10 in the place of an outdoor intake mechanism 9. The temp. of said air is decreased by such mixing and thereafter the air is released through the inside of the duct 5 to the outside of the device. The outdoor air from the fan 10 is guided by air guide fins 11 and is blown toward the evacuation direction of the waste air, by which the outdoor air is mixed with the waste air without disturbing the flow of the waste air.

強力であるため、定着装置内の各部材及び雰囲気は光エ
ネルギーを吸収して高温になる。特に、フラッシュラン
プ発光部の温度上昇は著しく、この部分より排気される
排気エアーは80℃以上になる場合もある。このように
定着装置外に排気するエアーは相当高温となるため、排
気エアーを冷却して装置外に排気する必要がある。そこ
で、従来は排気口を定着装置から可及的に引き離して排
気径路を長くとることにより、自然冷却を行なってから
外部へ放出していた。この場合、定着装置の構造上など
の制約を受けて排気径路ダクトの断面積が減少し、しか
もその径路は直線的でなくなる。そのため、排気径路に
おける流量損失が大きく、完全排気を行なうには高性能
なファンを使用しなければならず、コストアップを招来
していた。また、排気径路を通しての自然冷却では、冷
却効率が悪く、外部に高温のままの排気エアーを排気せ
ざるを得ないという問題があった。
