本発明は自動車等車輛の排気ガスを浄化するためのハニ
カムをケーシング内に弾性支持すると共に排気ガスをシ
ールする如くなした排気ガス浄化用ハニカム支持体及び
その成形方法に関するものである。Detailed Description of the Invention (Technical Field) The present invention relates to a honeycomb support for exhaust gas purification which elastically supports a honeycomb in a casing and seals the exhaust gas for purifying the exhaust gas of a vehicle such as an automobile. (従来技術)
本出願人は先に実公昭55−26512号公報及び実公
昭55−26513号公報忙示すよ9に、耐熱金属細線
をメリヤス編した金部網を圧縮して断面り型の鍔付環状
クッション体となし、その環状部後端に排気ガスが通過
できない高密度部を形成してハニカムをケーシング内に
弾性支持すると同時にハニカム外面とケーシング内面と
の間から排気ガスが漏洩することを防止した排気ガス浄
化用ハニカム支持体を出願したが、シール部分のシール
性を高めようとすると弾力性が少くなり、弾力性を高め
ようとするとシールが不充分になるという欠点があった
。又鍔付環状クッション体と別にアスベストリングをハ
ニカム外面とケーシング内面の間に介装して排気ガスを
シールするようにすることも考えられたが熱膨張時のシ
ール性が悪く、別体であるので組み付けの作業性が悪い

The patent application has been filed for a honeycomb support for exhaust gas purification that prevents this problem, but it has the disadvantage that when trying to improve the sealing performance of the sealing part, the elasticity decreases, and when trying to increase the elasticity, the seal becomes insufficient. It was also considered to insert an asbestos ring between the outer surface of the honeycomb and the inner surface of the casing separately from the flange-shaped annular cushion body to seal the exhaust gas, but the sealing performance during thermal expansion was poor, so it was decided to use a separate ring. Therefore, there was a drawback that the workability of assembly was poor.

本発明は排気ガス浄化用ノ・ニカムを弾性支持すると共
に熱膨張性耐熱弾性シール体を用いて熱膨張時のシール
性を向上し、更に弾性支持部材とシール部材を一体とな
して組み付は易くし作業性を良好にすることを目的とす
るものである0
(実施例)
次に添付図面に従って本発明を説明する。1は0.15
φNm 程度のステンレス線2をメリヤス丸編した筒金
網で、その一端よシ第2図の如く袋巻きし、巻き終る前
の袋巻きした環状部2a外面に、セラミックファイバー
シート等からなる熱膨張性耐熱弾性シールリング3を嵌
合し、その上から筒金網1の端部2bをかぶせ、第3図
の如く断面り型の圧縮メツシュ部4aと後端のシール部
4bが一体となった排気ガス浄化用ハニカム支持体4を
成形する。使用時は第4図の如く内部に排気ガス浄化用
の触媒を担持したハニカム5の両端外周に前記排気ガス
浄化用ノ・ニカム支持体4をかぶせ、ケーシング6内に

かぶせて一体に圧縮し、圧縮メツシュ部とシール部を一
体に成形しているので熱膨張時のシール性がよく、組み
