Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the mounting workability by fitting a slip ring intended for transmitting toward a car body, the outputs of switches attached to a steering wheel, to the car body via a turn restricting part where the inserted projection engages with this projection. CONSTITUTION:A slip ring 12 consists of two housings 13 and 14 which are longitudinally arranged in the opposed relation as to form a doughnut-like space, and a signal transmission mechanism (not illustrated in the drawing) which is capable of transmitting signals while allowing both housings 13 and 14 to be turned is interposed therebetween. A steering wheel is mounted on the upper face of the upper housing 13 via a bracket 15. The lower housing 14 has an integrally formed insert projection 17 at a specified position on the external perimeter of the lower face thereof, the projection 17 having resilient pieces 18 on both side faces in the shape of a wedge.
