Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 本発明は、電池内部のカスに万一、引火する様なことか
あっても、電槽・蓋の破損事故を起さない蓄電池を提供
することを目的とする。
本発明を実施例に基づいて説明すると、ます図において
1はポリプロピレン、ポリプロピレンとポリエチレンと
の共重合体、アクリルニトリルスチレン或はアクリルニ
トリルブタンエ/スチレ7等からなる電槽、2は電槽1
と同等材料からなる蓋、5は極板群、4は電解液面、5
は電解液面上の電池内空間6をカスの逸出に支障を来た
さない程度の微少容積とするために、蓋2の下面と電解
液面4との間に挿入した耐酸性を有するソリントなフロ
ック状スペーサ、7・7′は排気孔、8はコム弁である
。なお、電池内空間6の容積は蓄電池の大きさなどによ
っても若干異なるか、20Ah/10 Hn以下の蓄電
池においては同容積をろQ crI以下に設定し且つ電
槽1および蓋2の厚さを2 mm以下とすることにより
、所Jl/J (/封目的を達成することかできる。
本発明は、図示の如く電解液面4上の電池内空間6をカ
スの逸出に支障を来たさない程度の微少容積としたもの
であるから万一、電池内空間乙に滞留するカスに引火す
る様なことかあっても、そのカス量は微量であるため、
電槽1及び蓋2が破損するほどの爆発的現象は起らない
なお、ブロック状スペーサとしてはソリッドなものに限
らず、例えば゛第2図および第6図にそれぞれ示す様な
中空体(5′)や独立気泡のスボンン体(5″)を用い
ることもできる。また電池内空間6の容積を微少とする
他の手段としては、フロック状スペーサの挿入に代えて
蓋2の下面と電解液面4との凹陥を微少とする方法を採
用してもよい。
本発明は、叙上のとおり電池内部のカス爆発を阻止し、
電槽・蓋の破裂するおそれのない蓄電池を提供し得るも
のであるから、その工業的価値は犬である。
