Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent incidence of uneven development caused by bubbles entering into a developing section, by installing a temporary reservoir of developer to the developer inlet of a device which makes picture formation of one frame of a long film. CONSTITUTION:A long film 5 is fed from an exposure section 2 along the feeding direction F to a developing means 3 which intersects the direction F and a developer is supplied to a space between a protruded wall surface 10 and the film 5 by capillary action, and thus, only one frame of the film 5 id developed. By providing a cover 13 above the developer inlet 6 of the developing means 3, a developer reservoir 15 is formed by the right and left walls 9a and 9b of the ascending slope 9 of a picture forming unit 1, the developer hitting section 13a and developer accumulating section 13b of the cover 13. The developer is once stored in the reservoir 15 and bubbles 16 in the developer are removed by naturally introducing them to an upper space 6. Then the developer develops the film 5 and flows down along a descending slope 11 and is recovered from a recovering port 12. Therefore, uneven development due to bubbles contained in the developer is prevented and oozing out of the developer to the frames other than the one to be developed is also prevented.

2. Description of the Related Art A photographic film developing apparatus that includes an exposure means, a developing means, and a fixing means sequentially along a film feeding path through which a long film is passed is known as an apparatus for turning document materials into microfilm, for example. In such an apparatus, the developing means for visualizing one frame's worth of latent image formed by the exposing means generally performs development by supplying a developer to the latent image surface of the film.

When developing one frame at a time, the developer is first pumped under pressure by a pump whose supply amount can be controlled, and then supplied to the injection section of the developing means. In the developing means, development is carried out by moisturizing the film surface while flowing the developing solution down along the formed passage wall surface in a direction substantially perpendicular to the film feeding direction between the injection section and the collection section. .

Depending on the type of pump that pumps the developer,
Air gets mixed into the developer. When pressure is released at the injection site,
Air bubbles form. When the developer solution containing air bubbles flows between the passage wall surface and the film surface, uneven development occurs. When air bubbles adhere to and remain in the gap between the passage wall surface and the film surface at t%, some portions are left undeveloped, which is a problem.

The image forming apparatus is sequentially equipped with a fixing means and can perform exposure, development, and fixing on a frame-by-frame basis, and the developing means includes:
Approximately one frame's worth of developer is flowed down along the wall surface of a passage formed in a direction approximately perpendicular to the film feeding direction between an injection part that supplies developer fluid pumped from a pump and a developer collection part. In an apparatus for visualizing a photographed image for one frame formed by an exposure means, a liquid reservoir for temporarily storing a developer is formed in the developer injection part, and the developer injected into the liquid reservoir is temporarily stored in the liquid reservoir. Air bubbles in the developing solution are allowed to escape into the air while the developing solution accumulates2, thereby preventing air bubbles from flowing into the developing section.

The injection port 6 is formed in a recessed portion 7 which is recessed below the plane where the film 5 retracts above the film feeding path, and the developing means 3id includes the injection port 6, and further extends from the injection port 6 to the exposure opening 8a. The surface part 9 is formed toward the surface 8, and the surface 8 is uniformly raised from the surface 8, and faces the film 5, which is supported on the back side by pressure plates (not shown) and positioned with a gap therebetween. a passage wall surface 10 that is continuous with the passage wall surface 10 and formed toward a recessed portion below the film feeding path;

The cover 13 covers the inlet 6 as shown in the cross-sectional view of FIG.
It consists of a liquid abutment part 13a, which is hit by the developer discharged from the liquid abutment part 1.3a, and a liquid reservoir wall part 13b extending from the lower end of the liquid abutment part 13a toward the two slopes 9. A liquid squeezing portion 14 is formed between the nail surface 9 and the nail surface 9 . This cover 1

That is, when the developer for one frame is supplied from the pump to the injection port 6, the developer hits the liquid abutting portion 13a and falls down along the wall. Since the opening 1] of the liquid squeezing portion 14 is small,
The developer is temporarily stored in a reservoir 15. The air bubbles 16 mixed in the developer solution increase in spherical diameter especially when the pressure is released, and escape toward the upper space as shown by the arrow. As a result, the developer flowing down from the liquid squeezer 14 does not contain air bubbles. Therefore, when this developing solution flows down between the film 5 and the passage wall surface 10, it develops the film, but uneven development does not occur. The developing solution that has been used for development flows down from the lower end of the passage wall surface 10 to the disadvantageous area 1 to 1 and is collected at the collection port 12 .

Note that the state shown in FIG. 2 indicates a preferable usage state, and the unit 7 is installed so that the engineering surface portion 11 is substantially parallel to the vertical surface. The gravity acting on the developer can be effectively utilized to allow the developer to flow smoothly.

Further, in the above embodiment, the developer supplied to the injection port 6 is as follows:
Although it is assumed that the amount is equivalent to the development of one frame, the amount may be slightly larger than this. Since the amount of developer that can be stored in the liquid reservoir 15 increases and the liquid level rises, it is possible to increase the separation between the part containing bubbles (upper part) and the part not containing bubbles (lower part). This is important because the outflow speed from the tank increases.

In this embodiment, a roll film is used as the long film 5, and the film is configured to be wound up from a supply-side reel via a film feeding path by driving four winding shafts.
With this system, it is possible to drive/stop in units of frames. Such a roll film is preferably an audio cassette tape or VTI, which is stored in a cassette case.

The above embodiment can be applied to silver salt films as photosensitive materials, but is particularly suitable for electrophotographic films. In other words, high-resolution electrophotographic films in which an organic semiconductor layer is formed on a film base via a conductive layer are already available. It is a well-known electrophotographic method that forms microimages.
