Abstract

PURPOSE:To develop only one exposed frame while developer is prevented from oozing out to another frame by forming a narrow gap between the film surface and a protruded surface which intersects the feeding direction of a long film to make indicate a capillarity. CONSTITUTION:A developing means 9 is installed next to the exposure means 8 of a picture forming unit 7 of the device, etc., microfilming document data by developing the long film at every one frame. The protruded surface 14 which intersects the feeding direction F (shown by an arrow) of the film 1 is installed. A developer 18 is fed through an inlet 12 and supplied to one frame of the film to be developed through an inclined wall surface 13 and a gap 17 between the film 1 and protruded surface 14 by the capillarity and the used developer is made to flow to a developer recovering port 16 from the opposite side wall surface 15. In this way, the oozing out of the developer to the front and rear parts of the one frame to be developed is prevented. Therefore, development without any uneven development can be performed with a simple structure and wastefull use of the developer can be avoided.

2. Description of the Related Art A photographic film developing apparatus that includes an exposure means, a developing means, and a fixing means sequentially along a film feeding path through which a long film is passed is known as an apparatus for turning document materials into microfilm, for example. In such an apparatus, the developing means for visualizing one frame's worth of latent image formed by the exposing means generally performs development by supplying a developer to the latent image surface of the film. The developer flows between the film surface and the passage wall surface formed in a direction substantially perpendicular to the film feeding direction between the injection part and the collection part.

By the way, in the conventional apparatus, the wall surface of the passage through which the above-mentioned developer flows is formed in a concave shape, recessed from the surface 2 which is substantially in contact with the exposed surface (surface to be developed) la of the film 1, as shown in FIG. Alternatively, as shown in FIG. 2, it is formed as a portion 3a on a plane 3 parallel to the film 1, partitioned on both sides by partition members 4, 4. However, in the example shown in FIG. 1, a narrow gap 5 is formed between the partition member 2 and the film surface 1a, and similarly in the example shown in FIG. 2, a narrow gap 6 is formed between the partition members 4, 4 and the film surface 1a. is formed, and the developer oozes out as shown by the arrow due to capillary action. This oozing developer solution spreads to more than one frame of film.

When processing a film in which a specific frame of film fed to the developing section has been exposed and both sides or one side of that frame are unexposed, there is no possibility that the developer will ooze out due to capillary phenomenon such as "double series". This is a fatal drawback as it damages the exposed film. Moreover, even if all the frames of the film fed to the developing section have already been exposed, this bleed-out causes uneven development in the next frame to be developed.

To summarize the present invention, the wall surface of the developer passage, which is formed in a direction substantially perpendicular to the film feeding direction between the developer injection part and the collection part, is uniformly raised toward the film surface so that it is in contact with the film surface. The feature is that a narrow gap is formed in between, which exhibits a capillary phenomenon of the developer, and as a result, the developer flows only through the gap, and development for only one frame can be achieved.

The photographic latent image for one frame formed in the exposure means 8 is visualized by a phenomenon liquid in the next developing means 9. The developer is injected into the inlet 1 formed in the recess above the film feed path.
Supplied from 2. The developing means 9 has this inlet 12 and
A developer surface portion 13 formed from the injection port 12 toward a surface 11 that is substantially flush with the exposure opening 8a, and a developing solution that uniformly protrudes from the surface 11 and faces the oriented film 1 with a narrow gap. , a descending surface portion 15 that is continuous with the passage wall surface 14 and is formed toward the lower concave portion of the film feeding path, and a developer recovery port 16 that is formed at the end of the descending surface portion 15.

As shown in FIG. 4, which is a cross-sectional view taken along the film feeding direction, the passage wall surface 14 is uniformly raised from surface 1 by a width W corresponding to approximately one frame of photographic film. It is parallel to the film surface of the film 1 which is supported and oriented by a pressure plate or the like on the back side, and a narrow gap 17 is formed therebetween. The gap 17 is narrow enough to exhibit capillary action in the developer 18, and is spaced, for example, at a distance of 0.5 myt. Also,
The narrowness of this gap brings about a more pronounced electrode effect in the case of negative development. FIG. 5 is an end view taken along line A--A in FIG. 3, showing a preferred mode of use.

That is, the image forming unit 7 is installed so that the descending surface portion 15 is substantially parallel to the vertical surface. This is because the gravity acting on the developer is maximized, allowing the developer to flow down smoothly.

In FIG. 5, when one frame's worth of developer is supplied to the injection port 12 from a pump (not shown) whose supply amount can be controlled via a pipe (not shown), the developer is supplied to the liquid contact plate. 19, falls downward, and flows down the ball surface part 13. Upon reaching the upper end of the gap 17, the developer is drawn into the gap. The liquid does not spread outward from the gap 17 due to capillary action, but immediately spreads to the lower end of the gap. At this time,
As shown in FIG. 4, the developer is uniformly supplied to the developing surface without flowing down only over the latent image surface corresponding to approximately one exposed frame. The developer that has been used for development flows out from the lower end of the gap 7, flows down the slope 15, and is collected at the collection port 16.

In this embodiment, a roll film is used as the long film no. 1, and the winding shaft is driven to wind the film from a reel on the supply side via a film feeding path.
With this Nostem, you can drive/stop the frame in units of frames. Such a roll film is preferably one housed in a cassette case, such as an audio cassette tape or a VTR tape.

Although the embodiment described above can also be applied to a silver salt film as a photosensitive material, it is particularly suitable for an electrophotographic film. That is, a high-resolution electrophotographic film in which an organic semiconductor layer is formed on a film base via a conductive layer has already been developed, and micro images are formed by a well-known electrophotographic method.

As described above, the present invention reversely applies capillary phenomenon to uniformly bulge only the developer passage wall surface facing the film positioned in the film feeding path toward the film surface, thereby creating a gap between the film surface and the film surface. Since a narrow gap indicating capillary development of the developing solution is formed in this case, it is possible to supply the developing solution only for one frame to be developed. At the same time, since the structure is simple, the cost will not increase.
