Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable efficient letterpress printing at a low cost with a conventional offset press by sticking ink solid to the surface of an ink holding body mounted on the plate cylinder surface of the offset press, transferring the ink to the letterpress mounted on the required part of a blanket cylinder and performing printing. CONSTITUTION:An ink holding body 2 is mounted on the surface of a plate cylinder 1 and a PS plate for offsetting which is so formed as to permit sticking of ink solid over the entire surface or a rubber sheet permitting easy sticking of ink is used. The ink is stuck solid to the surface of the holder 2 by an inking roll 5 and the ink is transferred to a letterpress 4 mounted on a blanket cylinder 3 from the holder 2; thereafter the ink is transferred from the letterpress 4 to printing paper 6, whereby printing is accomplished. Letterpress printing is easily performed by using a general offset printing machine without modification as mentioned above. The cost of the printing material is thus reduced considerably and since the mounting of the plate is easy, the printing efficiency is improved.

るものであり、効率よく低コストで従来のオフセット印
刷機を用いて凸版印刷を行うことを目的とするものであ
る。

る場合が多い。例えばカレンダー印刷物の店名の刷り込
み等は別途凸版印刷方法により行うことが多い。これは
主に平版オフセット印刷pこよると、わずかな印刷部分
の場合であっても規格の大きさの版全部を使用しなけれ
ばならないから版材コストが高くなるからである。

とはできない。更にドライオフセットが実施できるオフ
セット印刷機は版胴、ブランケット胴のアンダーカット
量が他のものと異なっており、限定されていた。
