Abstract

PURPOSE:To form a corner part having a high adhesion strength, by charging a hot-melt adhesive into a corner part space formed by surface-treated end faces or notch end faces of a rubber made glass running channel or channels. CONSTITUTION:Before charging, the end faces 2 of the notch end faces 2' of the glass running channel or channels 1 are surface-treated. A notched part of a glass running channel member 1 is opened in conformity to the shape of a window frame, or two glass running channel members 1 are opposed to each other in conformity to the shape of the window frame, the member or members 1 are set in a metallic mold 10, and a hot-melt adhesive is poured into the space part 3. As a hot-melt adhesive, a urethane base or nylon base solvent-type one is preferably used.

A portion of the corner of the glass run channel must be shaped to relieve stress and prevent the intrusion of wind and rain, and the same applies to the rubber glass run channel. As a method for molding a part of a rubber glass launcher/flank corner, a method is known in which rubber or synthetic resin is injected into a part of the corner space provided with a notch or notch to fit the window frame. However, among these methods, the method of injection molding requires vulcanization of the injected rubber, which takes time. Furthermore, the method of injecting synthetic resin has drawbacks such as low adhesive strength with rubber and easy separation of rubber and synthetic resin. Especially when the rubber is ethylene/propylene rubber (e.g. EPM, E
PDM) and natural rubber (NR) blend (BP/NR)
) or a blend rubber (EP/SB) of ethylene/propylene rubber and styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR)
Rubbers containing ethylene-propylene rubber, such as R), have poor adhesion to synthetic resins and are easily separated.

Another known method is to add a small hole to the notch of a rubber glass run, inject synthetic resin into the hole, and physically sew it together. It is difficult to prevent.

The method of the present invention provides a rubber glass launch channel member, which comprises surfacing an end face or notch end face of a rubber glass launch channel member and then filling a part of the corner space formed by the opposing end face or notch end face with a hot melt adhesive. This is the method of forming a part of the corner.

The surface treatment is carried out to activate the rubber surface, and the treatment method itself is known. For example, rubber is EP
/SBR or EP/NH, for example, a 2% solution of trichloroisocyanuric acid (C3C13N3Q) or a solution of tertiary butylhybochloride is applied to the end face or notch end face. If the rubber is EPM or EPDM, the i4 surface or notch end surface is irradiated with ultraviolet rays of 200 Å or less for about 10 seconds.
