Abstract

PURPOSE:To switch accurately an antenna only at a correct tuning point or its vicinity, by operating an antenna diversity control circuit only when a signal meter output voltage is at a prescribed level or over and a tuning meter output voltage is within a specific range. CONSTITUTION:An output voltage from a signal meter 6 is applied to an amplifier A3, and only when the output voltage is at a prescribed level or over, an output from the amplifier A3 is applied to an AND circuit AND2. Thus, an output is obtained from the AND circuit AND2 only when the signal meter output voltage is at a prescribed level and over and the tuning meter output voltage is within a specific range and applied to a transistor (TR) 10. Thus, the TR10 is turned on and the antenna diversity control circuit 7 is operated to operate an antenna switching circuit 2 for switching the antenna.

In the conventional system described above, the signal meter 6 reads the DC voltage proportional to the electric field strength taken out from the intermediate frequency amplification stage 4, turns on the changeover switch 8 according to this signal meter output voltage, and controls the antenna diversity control circuit. The antenna switching circuit 2 is configured to switch the antenna by operating the antenna 7.

However, in such a system, the antenna switching circuit is operated not only at the correct tuning point of the receiver but also when the receiver is out of tune, which results in an unnatural feeling of tuning near the tuning point. There have also been cases where switching malfunctions have caused abnormal oscillations.

The present invention has been made from the above point of view, and the antenna diversity contest occurs only when the signal meter output voltage taken out from the intermediate frequency amplification stage is above a certain level and the tuning meter output voltage taken out from the detection stage is within a specific range. It is an object of the present invention to provide an antenna diversity system which eliminates the conventional drawbacks by configuring the control circuit to operate. Embodiments of the present invention will be described below with diagonal reference to the drawings.
