Abstract

PURPOSE:To make a decorative part unpeelable so easily by a car washing brush or the like, by bulging a portion of a lining part outside through a hole installed in an outer cap, while making up the decorative part with this bulged part. CONSTITUTION:A hub cap body 1, as a whole, is made up of a two-layer construction comprising an outer cap part 33 and a lining part 34, while a concave part 23 and a concave groove 24 corresponding to the pattern of each decorative part are formed on the head surface of the outer cap part 33 and further through holes 25 and 25 are formed on each bottom of the concave part 23 and the concave groove 24. At the head part, the lining part 34 is bulged to both inner parts of the concave part 23 and the concave groove 24 and filled in them 23 and 24. As for materials, those specified are used, that is, one being excellent in tipping resistance for the outer cap part 33 and the other excellent in both of elastic strength and creep resistance for the lining part 34 respectively, and the coloration of the outer lining part 34 differs from the outer cap part 33 in a hue, meaning that it is colored with optimum hues for decoration's sake.

In general, vehicle hubcaps are made of synthetic resin molded into a hunt shape with an overhanging edge that protrudes outward at the open end, and the head is decorated with patterns such as letters, symbols, and patterns. A section will be established. Conventionally, this decorative part is formed by injection molding the hub-shaped hub cap body and then painting it, but since the adhesion strength of the coating is not very strong, it may be damaged by flying stones while driving or by the friction of brushes when washing the car. There was a risk that this coating would peel off and cause damage. Furthermore, since a sonnner or the like is used in the painting process, the working environment is extremely poor, and furthermore, a drying process is required after painting, resulting in a poor manufacturing yield. The same applies to the case of forming a decorative part by plating.

An object of the present invention is to form a hub cap from an outer cap and a lining part integrated inside the outer cap, and to expand a part of the lining part to the outside through a hole provided in the outer cap. The above-mentioned drawbacks are eliminated by forming a decorative portion by a bulging portion that is protruded, and will be described in detail below using examples.

Figures 1 and 2 are a plan view and a sectional view showing an example of an automobile hub camp produced by the method of the present invention, and in each figure, the nose cap body 1 is injected with synthetic resin to form a hat as a whole. A flat head part 2, a cylindrical side part 3, and an open end 3 of the side part 3.
A plurality of overhanging edges 32 extending outward from the wheel nut 1 and held by a wheel nut are integrally formed, and a concave notch 43 is formed to resiliently engage at least the inclined edge n. On the outer surface 21 of the head 2, there is an outer ring 22a5 and an inner ring 22b5, which is different in color from the hubcap body 1.
A decorative portion consisting of characters 22c is formed. The hubcap body 1 as a whole includes an outer cap part 33 and an inner lining part 3.
4, and a recess 23 and a groove 24 corresponding to the pattern of each decorative part are formed on the head surface of the outer cap part 33, and a bottom surface of the recess 23 and groove 24. A through hole 25.25 is formed in. The lining portion 34 bulges into the recess 23 and the recess 24 through the through hole 25 at the head, and is filled in the recess 23 and the recess 24 . The outer cap portion 33 is made of a material with high chipping resistance, and the lining portion 34 is made of a material with high elastic strength and creep resistance, such as engineering plastic such as glass fiber-filled cynylon, and its color is different from that of the outer cap portion 33. It is colored in a tone that is suitable for decoration.

That is, the outer cap portion 33 is set in advance in the injection molding space M formed by the mold C and the mold. At this time, the outer cap part 33 is firmly fixed by a presser pin 51 provided at a portion of the overhanging green part 32 of the outer cap part 33 and a position corresponding to the head part 2 of the outer cap part 33 in the mold. Note that the presser pin 5r is inserted into the outer cap portion 3 while avoiding the through hole 25 provided in the head portion of the outer cap portion 33.
A plurality of molds are provided throughout to prevent resin leakage between the outer surface of mold C and the inner surface of mold C. In this state, the lining part 34 can be formed by injecting resin into the injection molding space M, and the resin W is preliminarily provided in the head 2 through the hole 25. The recesses 23 and grooves 24 are filled. Since the resin filled in the recess 23 and the groove 24 is arranged in a different color from the color of the outer cap part 330, the resin filled in the recess 23 and the groove 24 is inevitably different from the color of the outer cap part 330. A pattern corresponding to the pattern of the grooves 24 and a decorative portion of characters can be formed.

Therefore, according to the present invention, the hub cap has a two-layer structure of an outer cap part and an inner lining part, and after the outer cap part is molded in advance, this outer gap part is set in the injection molding space to form the inner lining part. The part is injection molded,
During this injection molding, the resin is made to bulge outward through a hole provided in advance on the head side of the outer cap part, and a predetermined pattern of recesses or recesses are provided at locations corresponding to the holes. Since the groove is filled with this resin, a hub cap having a predetermined decorative portion on the head can be manufactured by injection molding twice. Therefore, since the decorative part is made of a resin layer having a certain thickness and is integrated with the lining part through the holes 25, it will not be easily peeled off by flying stones, car wash brushes, etc., and the surface will not wear out. However, the same color tone can be obtained. Further, there is no need to use thinner or the like during painting as in the conventional method, and the working environment can be improved.
