Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the reliability of a magnetic disk device, by providing an elastic support member which can be freely deformed in the same direction as a positioning device between a voice coil motor and a substrate. CONSTITUTION:When a positioning command is received from an upper device while a magnetic disk 1 is revolved together with a spindle 6 by a motor, a carriage 3 performs a seeking action accompanied by a high-speed reciprocating motion.
