However, in conventional polishing processing of this type, that is, mercerization processing, it is necessary to apply a caustic liquid to the fabric to be processed, a means to apply tension to the fabric to which the caustic liquid has been applied, etc., and to create gloss on the fabric. Since a plurality of processing steps are required for mercerization, it takes a long time to complete the mercerization.

The present invention has been made in view of the above circumstances, and aims to produce luster on fabric without using conventional caustic solution treatment and applying tension, which was considered impossible with conventional methods. It can make knitted fabrics shiny, and since no caustic liquid is used, there is no need for chemicals, and there is no need for a chemical application device, and there is no need for a tenter for alteration, making it extremely economical. This has the effect of making it possible to perform various types of processing.

Reference numeral 8 denotes a hot water supply tank installed inside the steamer can body 1 and near the fabric inlet 2. A fixed amount of hot water is always circulated and supplied into the hot water supply tank 8, and the steamer can The fabric supplied into the body 1 is hydrated in this hot water supply tank 8.

First, the steamer can body 1 is heated so that saturated steam at a high temperature of around 140°C to 160°C is maintained inside the steamer can body 1.
Steam is sent into the liquid seal tank 42 and hot water supply tank 8.
It is desirable that the temperature of the hot water that is circulated and supplied to the hot water supply tank, which supplies a certain amount of water, is high enough to follow the temperature inside the steamer can.

In addition, cooling water is circulated and supplied to the slow cooling tank 5□ so that hot water of about 50° C. is always maintained, and high-temperature water is supplied to the prewash tank 9.

Therefore, the fabric 10 is fed into the steamer can body 1 through the introduction side sealing mechanism 4, and the fabric 10 is first guided by the first tension adjustment roll 7, then the first guide roll 6, and then into the hot water supply tank 8. After the fabric is sufficiently impregnated with hot water, steaming is performed using high pressure and heat inside the steamer can while the fabric is guided and transferred by guide rolls inside the steamer can.

In other words, when the fibers of cotton yarn are not swollen, they are flat and have tape-like twists, as shown in Figure 2 A, and the fiber surface is never smooth and has many folds or wrinkles. There is no gloss on the fiber surface.

However, when the fibers are swollen by steaming according to the present invention, each fiber constituting the cotton yarn swells into a substantially circular cross section as shown in the opening of Figure 2, and each fiber row is aligned in a certain direction. Diffuse reflection from the fibers is eliminated, and fibers with a glossy appearance, that is, fabrics with a glossy surface, can be obtained.

As described above, the present invention supplies only cotton fibers or a knitted or woven fabric containing cotton fibers into a high-pressure steamer that maintains high pressure and heat above normal pressure and can continuously pass the fabric. The fabric is impregnated with sufficient hot water and then steamed using high temperature, high pressure, and heat in a steamer to swell and align the fiber rows of the cotton yarn. It is possible to create a deep gloss on the surface without using.

Another feature of the present invention is that there is no need to apply tension, so it is possible to create gloss on the surface of the knitted fabric, which has the effect of creating gloss on the knitted fabric, which was considered impossible with conventional mercerization. .

Further, according to the present invention, since a tenter or the like is not used, the gloss generating equipment is simplified, and it is possible to continuously produce a single gloss fabric with a highly economical apparatus.
