この発明は、自動車用エンジン等の内燃機関から脈動的
に排出される排気の内部エネルギを減少させ、脈動を整
圧することにより騒音を減衰させる消音器の改良に関し
、部品点数が少なく、製作が容易でしかも部品の汎用化
が図れて製品を安価に提供できるようにすることを目的
としている0
排気騒音を減衰させるための消音器として、従来から第
1図に示した様な構造の消音器が知られている0この消
音器は、筒状の胴体10前後両端開口をそれぞれ端板2
.3で塞いで成るケーシング4の内部を、前後方向に間
隔をあけて互いに平行に設けられた3枚の隔壁5.6.
7によって前側(図面左側)から順に第一〜第四の4個

えるだけで、多種の消音器を造ることができ、組合せの
数を変えれば更に多種の消音器が得られる。更に1各素
子を結合して成る一ケーシング4の上記結合部は二重構
造となってケーシングの周壁の補強枠としての作用を有
するため、ケーシング40周壁を二重構造とする必要は
