Abstract

PURPOSE:To facilitate the positioning for reading of a bankbook and to improve the reading accuracy for a reading device using an optical sensor, by comparing the read data given from a reading part with a prescribed pattern data when a medium is inserted. CONSTITUTION:A stripe pattern which is drawn orthogonally to the traveling direction of an optical sensor 3 is applied on the suface of a press roll 2. This pattern is read by the sensor 3 when no bankbook is inserted and stored in a memory 6, and a stripe pattern signal P is stored. Therefore the coincidence is always obtained between a read signal A1 and the signal P. When a bankbook B reaches under the sensor 3, the insertion of the book B is detected since a detecting signal A2 is different from the pattern signal extracted from the memory 6. Then the shift amount is decided to the next print 4 by the detection of the book B.

(b) Conventional technology and problems In the bookkeeping device, correct positioning is required in order to convey the passbook inserted from the reading unit to the printing unit and print it. Calculate the difference between the reading signal A, (focus level: when no passbook is inserted) and A, (white level: when passbook is inserted) of the optical sensor of the reading section,
A method of detecting insertion of a bankbook (this detection signal is used as a reference for positioning) is adopted. In this conventional method, even if the end of the passbook is detected, there may be a time lag in the detection, or the passbook may be soiled or there may be a difference in level due to lighting in the reading section. It was difficult to raise it. Therefore, it is necessary to install a transmission type reference sensor separately from the optical sensor of the reading section, and even if this means is provided, there is a drawback that reading accuracy cannot be improved.

In the conventional method, the irradiated light from the lamps L1 and 2 is reflected by the holding roller 2), the p level signal detected by the optical sensor 3 (when no passbook is inserted), and the reflection from the passbook B when the passbook is inserted. The insertion of a bankbook was detected using the difference in accuracy between the white level signal and the detected white level signal. In the present invention, for example, a striped pattern of black and white, for example, a striped pattern drawn in a direction (vertical) perpendicular to the flight (horizontal) direction of the optical sensor 3 is applied to the surface of the holding roller 2. I'll keep it. Therefore, when the passbook is not inserted, the irradiation light from the lamp L, the holder, and the handle are irradiated onto the striped pattern on the holding roller 2, and the scanning (horizontal) detection by the optical sensor 3 reads this striped pattern. It will be done. This read signal A is stored in the memory 6, so
A striped bang signal P is stored. Therefore, when no passbook is inserted, the signal read successively from the optical sensor 3 and the signal taken out from the memory 6 always match, so no signal is output from the comparing section 7. The signal level of signal C'MPNG is "0".

However, when passbook B reaches the bottom of optical sensor 3, lamp L
The irradiated light from L and R (since it is reflected by passbook B, this detection signal A2 and the slam signal I taken out from memory 6) will be 4, so 7Jj of book B] One person will be detected. This communication Qll, (by detection of B, 0 sending to next print 4 (line 7 to be printed next)
