Abstract

PURPOSE:To extract a valve stem, a valve box and a valve body together without breaking the vacuum of a vacuum jacket by forming it around a relay pipe in which the valve box is extractably inserted. CONSTITUTION:A flange 22 is formed at the upper end of a relay pipe 2 and a valve cover 24 is mounted on the flange via an O-ring 23. A valve stem 4 passes through the valve cover 24 so that it may be kept air-proof and liquid-proof. A vacuum jacket 25 is formed around the relay pipe 2 and a valve body 1 and tightly closed around a piping via a suitable joint 26. For extracting the valve body 10, the valve cover 24 and bolts 18 are removed, and as an occasion demands, the bolts 18 are driven into holes 20, 20 to pull up a valve box fixing shaft 6 and a valve box 5 integrated with it to some extent to release the engagement between the valve box 5 and insertion holes 3 and 3' before a screw ring 17 and a retainer ring 16 are removed.
