Abstract

PURPOSE:To make the position of a steel core with respect to a base material constant and to obtain a steel cored trolley wire having good quality, by providing a groove for accepting the steel core to the roll on one side of a pair of rolling rolling rolls, introducing the steel core and the base material between the rolls and rolling rolls and rolling the material. CONSTITUTION:A wear resistant iron alloy wire having a circular or square section and a metallic base material of Al or the like having high conductivity are prepared. Such steel core 1 and base material 2 are heated and are introduced into the space between a pair of rolls 4, 5 provided with a groove for accepting the steel core 1 on the roll 5 on one side, whereby the core and base material are rolled. Guides 6a, 6b having a limited width and outside shape are beforehand provided between the upper and lower rolls 4 and 5. The position of the core 1 in the trolley wire is stabilized by the above-mentioned method. Since the core 1 is exposed from the slideway after the production of the trolley wire, the effect of resistance to wear is obtd. immediately when it is used.

Toro IJ wires, which have a steel core with a round, rectangular or other cross-section and whose base material is highly conductive aluminum, copper, etc., are well known, and an example thereof is shown in FIG. In Figure 1, steel core 1
is embedded in the metal base material 2 and takes the form of a levee, but such contact wires are generally manufactured by a wire drawing method or an extrusion method. On the other hand, in the wire drawing method, the metal base material 2 is formed into a trolley shape using a number of dies, and the position where the steel core 1 is to be embedded is also formed, and after the steel core 1 is embedded in the position, drawing is performed. This increases the number of steps, which is economically disadvantageous. -Producing such contact wires by machine/coat extrusion requires expensive and special extruded materials, and this method is disadvantageous in terms of equipment.

The important thing in producing a steel-core L/roller as shown in Figure 1 by rolling welding is that the relative position of the steel core and metal base material must always be kept constant during rolling. be. According to the present invention, of a pair of rolling rolls, the surface of the roll in contact with the steel core is provided with a groove for receiving the steel core, and the steel core and metal base material are introduced between these rolls and rolled 1F. By doing so, the IW of the steel core relative to the metal base material becomes constant, and a contact wire of good quality can be manufactured. The present invention will be explained below based on the drawings.
