Abstract

PURPOSE:To clamp a steel pipe irrespectively of the base pipe part and upset part of the pipe by pivotally fitting pawls which clamp the steel pipe on cooling saddles oscillatably to the base fixed to a turning shaft. CONSTITUTION:Pawls 1 connected by means of pins 2 and bolts 3 to many bases 4 mounted to a revolving shaft 5 fitted to bearings 6 provided in plural pieces are held open in the state of 1' and a steel pipe 13 is placed on saddles 11. Cylinders 9 each one of which is cnnected to both ends of the shaft 5 are actuated by levers 7 and pins 8 to clamp the pipe 13 from both sides by the revolution of the shaft 5.
