In order to achieve this, the present invention uses a paper folding mechanism that includes a paper feeding mechanism, a paper folding mechanism that folds the paper sent from the paper feeding mechanism, and a discharge mechanism that discharges the folded paper out of the system. In the apparatus, a paper feed opening lower plate that is adjacent to the paper feeding mechanism and that guides the paper to be fed to the paper folding mechanism is bent upward at a substantially right angle to the initial paper feeding direction of the paper feeding mechanism; A subsequent paper folding mechanism is disposed above the paper feeding mechanism, and an ejecting mechanism is disposed in front of the paper feeding mechanism and below the paper folding mechanism in the initial paper feeding direction, so that the paper after folding is is discharged out of the system in substantially the same direction as the initial paper feeding direction.

以下添付図面第3図に従い本考案を詳述する。The present invention will be described in detail below with reference to FIG. 3 of the accompanying drawings.

The separated paper P is placed on the paper feed opening lower plate 1 which is curved upward.

When the leading edge of the paper P that has entered the gap reaches the tangent between the drive roller 21 and the driven roller 22 of the paper folding mechanism 20 located diagonally above the paper feed mechanism 10, the paper P is transported by both of the rollers. It will be taken over on 21st and 22nd.

In this embodiment, the paper folding mechanism 20 is provided with two folding plates 25 and 28 so as to be able to fold twice, and when setting it to fold once, a guide provided on the first folding plate 250 is used. Board 27
As a result, the passage 25t on the folding plate 25 side is closed.

When the guide plate 27 is in the retracted position (not shown) and the paper folding mechanism 20 is in a state where it can fold twice, both the rollers 2
The paper P taken over by the first folding plate 250 first enters the passage 25 of the first folding plate 250 until its leading end abuts against the stopper 26.

However, even after the above-mentioned contact, the trailing edge of the paper P is forcibly fed into the passage 25 by both rollers 21 and 22, so the trailing edge of the paper P is separated by the drive roller 21 and the driven roller 23. Deflect towards the tangent.

Similarly to the above, the rear end side of the paper P is connected to both rollers 21 and 23.
Since the roller is forcibly fed into the passage 28 and broken, the rear end side is bent toward the tangent line between the drive roller 21 and the driven roller 24.

Therefore, this bent portion is held between both rollers 21 and 24 to form a second fold, and the paper P is held between both rollers 21 and 24.
24, the paper is sent out toward the delivery mechanism 30 located below the paper cutting mechanism 20.

Contrary to the above, the guide plate 27 is in the closed position (position shown)
, and when the paper folding mechanism 20 is in the state of folding once, the paper P taken over by both rollers 21 and 22 advances directly toward the tangent between the driving roller 21 and the driven roller 23 according to the guide plate 27. do.
